I thought it was the adelaide game but i think tonight might beat it.

no Swanny, daisy struggling with injury and let's not mention the umps.

Edit. Move this if necessary mods

Can't really remember what was happening leading up to the Adelaide game, but imo this one just had more emotional value to it because of the whole Swanny incident, a really undeserving win against Saints and just a whole lot of question marks raised over the team.

We did play better against Adelaide, but I thought we played exceptionally well tonight.

Our structures held firm, we withstood their hard pressure, and beat them at their own game. I think this game was a much tougher game to win, so it's definitely ahead of the Adelaide match in that regard.

So close to the finals, with so much at stake, and so much stacked against us, definitely this game. Circumstances keep testing us, but our best is easily the best.

Hard to separate the two. Underdogs in both to the majority of fans. Key injuries in both games. Players going down in both games. Beams tearing apart both games. Sydney was sweater just because of their 9 game streak and how good they've been.

this week by far. its importance was noted beforehand, and the resounding confidence it brings this forum, and clearly the team, in the last 2 months is huge. adelaide restored our faith in the club after the ordinary start and the number of kids we were forced to play. the sydney win restores my faith that we will go all the way.

Clearly our best win for the year, yeah we didn't play our best but we still beat the top side who did play well. Key players out/injured, lot of kids standing up, we have a lot of fight in us.

WHAT?!!!! Are you serious?!
If anything, I thought we had the rub of the green on quite a few occasions, especially early.

We played better in the Adelaide game, but Sydney I think, are a better side than Adelaide. This is twice now this year that we've responded the way we did to the same set of circumstances. Only quality sides can do that. Really is a "lifting" win isn't it.

The holding the ball interpretation was a lottery at best, and we got screwed over once again by deliberate OOB. Not to mention the boundary umpires; several times it was called in when it was out (like when Beams then kicked it on the full, or the other time when Sydney ran away and got a goal), and that on the full that gifted a goal to O'Keefe in the third was a disgrace.

But anyway, I would have to say that this one was better than Adelaide, more just because Sydney were absolutely flying, I know Adelaide had just smashed Geelong and Carlscum but neither were travelling great at the time. We had so many sore players on Saturday that we really had no right to win. We are still an awesome side when our backs are against the wall.

True.... The On the full called off Marty's (??) boot was a disgrace!!

Oddly, if I'm not mistaken I got much the same thing out of both games. I think it was the Adelaide game which was the one which convinced me that Dids was back and ready to explode. Is that the one where he had two set shots for goal from almost the same position and got 1 from 2? I think it was and the truth is I got a very similar feeling about his performance on Saturday night. Possibly one of if not our best win but as much for the promise of things to come as anything in my view.

From alex fasolo's diary on the collingwood website:

"We went to the club for our divisional meeting to talk about the weekend, going over what we did right and what we can improve on where there was some pretty good input from Christopher Dawes"

Sounds like it could been a pretty good meeting, because our forward line separated alot better this weekend and dawes really stepped up.. one does wonder if it has anything to do with what chris said?

We went in with different structures without doubt and I think it paid off.

If we can get Krak & Didak firing at the feet of the 3 towers up forward, it could all just click come September.

I think the best thing from that win was Dawesy clunking them in front of his face.... He's a confidence player and that would have done him the World of good!!!

Both Adelaide and Swans were great wins.

Geelong wins were pretty good too.

The look and form of Didak and Dawes were wonderful to see, and if they can maintain this, they could be the factors that really propel us forward as a very major chance this year.

Dawesy is starting to find some form lads, if he can keep this up, hes playing the leigh brown role very well.
A big game for Chris this week against North, will do him wonders especially heading into the finals.

I instantly thought of the Adelaide win when I saw the title, but this win could really restart our season so the win against the Swans IMO
