As of the end of 2007 who has the best young list ?

I think the Hawks.

Collingwood's is good but a little overated. They still depend alot on a number of older guys.

Port's is pretty good and they drafted really well last year.

Brisbanes isn't that impressive. It's not bad but I wouldn't say top 4.


Carlton's list would be one of the top 4 young lists.

I'd like to see how the Pies youngsters would go if you took Clement (who retires), Wakelin, Burns, Rocca and Lockyer out of the side.

Based on your logic Sydney has had one of the best young lists in the comp over the past few years.

I would say that the margin is lot more narrow than you think. If the Hawks do have the best young list, the Pies would be a very close second!

In 2008 the Blues wil have the best young list, then a reasonable gap, followed by the Hawks. The Pies are bottom 4 in terms of talent in their younger player group.

The problem the Pies have is that apart from Pendlebury, the rest of their younger player group are middle-of-the-roaders e.g Maxwell, and Shaws are good triers, but mid-to-low-range talent wise.

Nice spin, but you know it ain't true. The Pies were never ever going to be a threat with their mid-to-low-talent level younger player group. The Blues have the best raw talent in the AFL now, and are focusing on flags 17 and 18. Looking forward to our next encounter.
