THIRTEEN AND CLOSING
So after our first 10 rounds we sit 9th at 4-5-1 and with a percentage of around 90.

I like many others are disappointed with our result last week but that's what happens with a young team, we aren't going to play great footy all the time. Unlike other young clubs who have their senior players carrying them to wins, it's our youngsters who are winning the games for us.

We ask and expect so much from guys like Cotch and Dusty to perform at an elite level week in week out, they play way beyond their years some games but then show their age in others (such as last Saturday). Truth is we will play inconsistent footy with a young team, it's just how it works.

Now looking forward...

Our next batch of games before our second and final bye are:

R12 SYDNEY - SCG
R13 BRISBANE - GABBA
R14 MELBOURNE - MCG
R15 CARLTON - MCG
R16 ESSENDON - MCG
R17 GOLD COAST - CAZALYS
R18 GEELONG - MCG

Out of those 7 I'd say 2-3 wins would be expected.

Brisbane, Melbourne and GC are our best chance at wins, yet nothing is set in stone and upsets happen. I can easily see us dropping 1 or 2 of those games but also we could come away with some up sets of our own out of Sydney, Carlton and Essendon games.

Now I know I am going to sound crazy... But we play Geelong at the G, something we haven't done since 08. If this game was at Skilled then I'd write it off as a 10+ goal smashing. Geelong aren't as dominant as recent times, our speed and good kicking skills should have a better advantage at the G. Though in saying all that, we'll probably get reamed...

What are your predictions for our next batch of games? Can we improve from where we've left off? Will we remain 9th? Will we win the clearances in a game? Will Jack kick 10 again?

syd - havent beaten them up there since 04 in fact have only beaten em a couple of times since then.

brisbane - fell in against them at the g when they had serious injury probs. they have a few back including brown and its away brisbane for me.

melb - geez they have been poor i suppose we will win this one in keeping with us only beating poor sides or injury riddled ones. atm melb are both.

carlton - play like we did against them rnd 1 and it wont be so close this time around more like 10 goals.

essendon - a mob we seem to have it over in recent yrs. still would think if they get players back will do us this time around especially when we could only fall in against them with so many out last time.

gold coast - hard to say which way this game will go, will give us a win here but its no monty.

geelong - if they play at their best we have no show.

thats two wins and will take us to 6 wins 10 losses and a draw after playing 17 games a similar position to last yr at the same stage.
