Opinion Beveridge trade hypothetical

No I don't agree, I think things went off the rails after the premiership, not surprising for a club that hadn't won one or even played in a GF for decades. I think he did a good job minimising the downwards trajectory.

And the senior coach has no responsibility for that at all?

Sorry Bev made a lot of mistakes that added to the turmoil.

Changes coaching roles(the worst error in club history imo)
Attitudes to players
Changing game plan

We all love the guy for brining us a flag but one more year of mediocrity and his position has to be in question.

Ok, the coaching roles changes have been shall we say interesting. I'll give you that one.
Attitudes to players, do you mean to Stringer & Dahlhaus? Or do you mean not playing Campbell and Roberts even though there were positional holes in the team?
Changing the game plan. I thought part of the problem post 2016 has been that other sides have us worked out in a number of key situations. E.g., our bringing the ball into the corridor and other high risk high return manouvres, & our heavy forward press. I've felt that, coupled with personnel changeovers, we have been working towards finding a new game plan in 2018. Hope I'm talking about the same thing you mean by "game plan".

He’s on record saying he doesn’t want to coach for more than five years, so I doubt this. He will do something outside of footy when he finishes up with us.

Let's flip this around. Say this was his last year, and walks off into a new life.

What good/interesting/promising/aspiriing assistant coaches are out there?

Heard good and bad stuff about him.

Good, footy stuff.

Bad, a bit of a campaigner personally.

Where is he now? ie which club?

He is at the tigers and from what i hear is a major major part of their success

Don’t mind a bit of campaigner

Depends.
BMac was a bit of a campaigner.

Again I will be the antagonist

If Bev has another average year what is his actual value? He had a plan A that worked but since then he has been unable to do much at all.

We have gone from 10th to 13th and I expect a lower finish again this year.

He has also been part of completely derailing a premiership list to one that is now completely unbalanced and devoid of speed and kicking skills.

After two hours of footy I don’t think there would be many realistic dog fans that aren’t already worried this year is not going to go well.

So what is his actual value and was his only real asset getting eveyone behind him for a very short period?

Who was he actively involved in moving on that had any longer term potential beyond Jake? Dahlhaus? One dude went to Freo (can't even remember the poor premiership winning fella's name poor bugger) and Roughy was pretty much a broken unit. Matty B retired? Picken broke and Dahlhaus needed a new start according to his own self? Dahlhaus was part of a group of guys that won the flag and stopped themselves dead. Probably because the flag was won on emotion, guts and heart more than the 2016 WBFC team being the most talented team of their year. Everyone was surprised at the win because they clearly weren't the best team for much of the home and away season but they were far and away the most driven and United team in the finals period and killed for each other. I'm less concerned about Bevo being a guy that removed players and more about what he has in his bag of tricks beyond a united team. He won a flag for us so he can stay until he's ready to go but I do hold fears for this season. I don't believe we have the cattle at the moment. Forward line is a disgrace and we keep unsettling a decent back line to try to patch it up :(
