Just as I always suspected BB, you have no balls. 
It is one thing to huff and puff on BF about every topic imaginable but in a real world situation you capitulated without a yelp.
After Mick had his big rave you should have gone over and congratulated him on his great wisdom in front of everyone. Then looking him squarely in the eye whilst applying the secret Freo handshake you should have said "can I put you down for $50 or $100 for my Red Cross tsunami appeal".
