SCPaige I'm reliably told Zaine Cordy is a lock to come to the Dogs and we will be lucky to get away with using our 3rd rounder on him, with our 2nd rounder more likely. Any insights as to why he wasn't taken at 42 when nominated by the North coach at 32?

Ask Skippos because I was the North coach who bid on him.

Reasoning is probably along the lines of still very raw potential wise compared to other KPP, but yeah I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't end up at the Doggies, probably as a third rounder at this stage which is about right.

Good get. Knightmare rates him only a rookie chance and compares him to Tyson Goldsack, I think he's more like Ryan Hargrave. Will get beaten or give away frees if asked to play tall but is a good 3rd tall defender and a good kick coming out of defense

Yeah I'm not on the Cordy bandwagon. There's a romantic element to father sons that sometime inflates their value and I think that might be present here. Can't see him ever being able to match up on anyone but a third tall or a resting ruck barring a physical and athletic transformation and as a third tall you want some offensive production if you're using a good pick on him and Cordy doesn't offer that. What he does well he does well but he's too limited a player in general. In this crop especially I felt there'd not only be better kpps left in the third round but also the fourth round too.

And I got finlayson instead who's a far more versatile player with a lot more upside so I think my decision turned out well.

I'd be baffled if someone bid a top 25 pick on Cordy, absolutely baffled. Can't remember a tweener without a damaging offensive game to ever go that high.

Great read BFGN. Thanks for the input and fwiw my current mock first round is similar to the one put forward except maybe Laverde to second round and Keitel first round.

What I found most interesting inside the top 10 was Jake Lever selected as the first genuine KPD (before Durdin) at 5, Jayden Laverde at 6 and Sam Durdin sliding to 10.

Matter of personal opinion but I can see the Bulldogs going with a tall defender at there first pick and I'd pick Durdin before Lever, Laverde to Carlton really surprised me, will be a good player i agree but not sure if Carlton would pass up on Durdin or Lever if available.

As for West Coast's first round pick I'm starting to warm more to Paul Ahern here. If available I'd rather Christian Petracca or Angus Brayshaw but Ahern has potential as a small forward initially with the potential to be a damaging midfielder

Great feedback. Unfortunately as much as we'd love to have Christian Petracca, there's no way he'll fall to your pick :p

I'm a Lever fan, it's just a matter of how much his injury will weigh in on the debate where he gets picked.

Petracca is a really good kid. Was very happy to be interviewed a few times and ive been a fan of him since round one last year. Think he is just sick of hearing his name thrown about haha.

Confused how GWS's compo and the bombers pick works. Would have thought GWS is first due to being lower on the ladder.

For the record with this one it was specified in the description of penalties that the Bombers "end of round pick" would take precedence over any other "end of round" picks.
