Biased/incompetent media coverage

On the Couch with Danger, Nath Jones and Phil Davis has been very very good.. No egos trying to make headlines, actual interesting football discussion. Well worth a watch.

Dusty hasn’t been his usual self, as we keep hearing from the media, but they laugh it off and say he’ll be fine, he’ll have a big back end of the year/ finals series. Melbourne and Collingwood have beaten no one of note and yet they’re contenders, why? Because they’re MCG Tennent’s and for no other reason, if the “AFL” and media can’t see how f**ked that is then this will never be a proper national sport in our lifetime. Vic media write off the club for 2018 and write off Nic after his ACL, saying he won’t be back to his best this year, he’ll barely play, won’t influence, Blah blah blah. He proves them wrong and the club proves them wrong and they’re all shocked and surprised and praising both club and Nic. A few poor games from both and the Vic media are out like a pack of campaigners blasting both and back to writing them off again. Garry Lyon couldn’t wait to jump off the “Nic Nat bandwagon” you could see how hard it was for him to admit on air he was “officially on” which we all know he wasn’t, the racist flog. And they can all f**k off with their articles each week basically trying to will both of Gaff and Gov over to their sh**hole city.

End of rant. Been sitting on that for a little while.

No disrespect, but this is the biased/incompetent media thread. Your comment would be fine in any other thread, but my post is the reason this thread exists. It’s an outlet for us to release our frustration (mostly) at the treatment this club receives from the Victorian media.

Agreed it was really cool to hear what they had to say about NN. I think some of the ex players turned commentators forget the little things sometimes. Blokes like Lyon. The guys were marvelling at just how scary it is to play opposed to NN and how hard it is to set up stoppages with him.

All things we say around these parts but it was overdue validation from Nics peers on a public forum to sway the opinions of opposition supporters who mostly listen to the commentary to form their opinions in the first place.

Best On the Couch I've seen. Good to see insight from the current players and good to hear them talk openly.
It was as if they had immunity from getting "Fined" for saying something the AFL didn't like.
Seemed as though they agreed on most things as well, particularly the wrong things like the stupid AFL Christmas fund, or Fines as the AFL call it, and some of the harsh umpiring rules that change week to week and game to game.
Bit of respect for a few Eagles, as already mentioned, was good to hear as well. "NicNat is frightening" haha loved it.

I absolutely love this Player Takeover Round for all these footy shows and obviously the interstate clubs are not going to be represented as well because flying to Melbourne for a night mid season is not going to work, but why advertise it as "EVERY CLUB" being represented when that is no where near true.

Apparently "EVERY CLUB" means all the Victorian clubs minus St Kilda plus GWS.
