Off the top of my head, that was one of the best game Paps has played against GWS. Often he's had Sam J Reid marking him, who strangely seemed to have his measure 🤷

Finally got a chance to give my two cents after a huge weekend away in Sydney.

Just a really solid, "get the job done" performance from our boys. We've towelled up a few teams now and perhaps is a small indicator of how we missed the 4 last year on %. The boys know it matters and could well and truly be a reason why we make the top 4 this season.

Probably one of Sam Reids best games for us. Really happy with his tap work and his on ball work. Thought Papley was good again. Still feel like he's building to a huge september. Gulden was fantastic. Just all round great effort. Amartey was quiet yep but I'd probably stick with the same side.

For those playing at home I've joined the admin team of the big Sydney Swans facebook group so say gday.

Also how good is Una's!!
Enjoyed your contibution to the podcast as well, Matt. Well done.

The people who voted for the Brett Kirk medal really bungled it IMO

Am I missing something? 9 for blakey and 2 for Jake Lloyd?

Who are you voting for, Rowbottom or Gulden (I'm voting Gulden)
I went Rowbottom, only because I feel there was a bit more merit to what he was doing. There was a stretch in the third quarter where Gulden literally got about 9 possessions in about a six or seven minute stretch all on the one side of the ground that GWS just continually left unmanned. 13 disposals for the quarter and only 1 of them contested. I would assume Rowbottom walked away from the game with more battle scars to show for his work.

But both were elite. Just think it's funny that the overwhelming consensus from fans that I've seen on social media and the like is that those two were the best on ground by far, yet neither won the best on ground medal.

Coaches agreed too.

The people who voted for the Brett Kirk medal really bungled it IMO
I commented to my wife shortly before the announcement that Parker would win it - these things are always biased towards the “high profile” players who are proven capable of a quick speech in front of a crowd.

Interesting that the Foxtel camera was on Rowbottom when the announcement was made. I (like most) thought he would be very deserving.

Having said, I can’t begrudge Parker the medal - he did the hard stuff all game & was very effective.

How is Paddy that far down?! I feel like he has been massively influential in so many of our games and in noticeable ways that the coaches would acknowledge... Wowee.

Tom also for that matter.
