Maxwell out so they replace him with Abbott.
Why not give a Morris or Kelly a go?

You know what you're going to get with Abbott.
Our selectors are vanilla.
Tuggs....I would of rewarded Dorff and Neser on good marsh cup form

but then I would not of had Starc and Hazelwood in these games and have them playing shield

Cricket has become a pile of crap.

Just saw there is one daters this week Aus v Eng.

It's all rushed and mayhem

I'd be surprised if 10k go to Adelaide Oval this week

Too much pointless cricket imo

Each summer should be an ODI series and 5 tests like in the 90s and chuck in the BBL after the tests

Apart from the Zimbabwe ODIs, New Zealand ODIs, away India T20I's, West Indies T20I's, England T20I's, World Cup and England ODIs, there hasn't really been too much cricket this season, and it is already mid November.
There isn't any international cricket after the 3rd South Africa test.
The international summer ends on January 8.... absolute disgrace.

If that means that our countries best players are playing in the BBL then thats a win over more meaningless ODIs

I'm a SACA member and only realised there was an ODI this week when I looked in my calendar. It clashes with my cricket training, and honestly I'd rather do training.

Putting the limited overs behind a pay wall has really shown how much CA relies on the network for promotion.

That goes for a lot of sports.

Foxtel is obviously a dinosaur of a product now, but late 00s/early10s was excellent in terms of cross promotion for all their content across FoxSportNews, newspapers, channels etc...

Look at the A-League in peak 2011ish compared to now. Completely different stratospheres of promotion.

I was listening to Vic media today and they were complaining that the ACB has scheduled a ODI in Melbourne for next Tuesday, saying it will result in low crowd numbers... They didn't seem to think that time slot was a factor when complaining about crowd numbers for the Perth T20 match on a Tuesday night a few weeks ago but anyway, they have a point.

Either the ACB aren't even taking the ODI series seriously with their fixturing, or they are totally deluded as to crowd expectations... or they don't care as long as they get broadcast $$.

It is an insanely tight period with that series to get it in, the Windies Tests and the South Africa series with the MCG Test as the 2nd Test. Just has to be jammed in I guess.

South Australia scored too slowly in their innings. They only lost their second wicket in the 38th over, they should have been able to put on 300+.

Why did Hardie only bowl 4 overs? Injury or just not used
Not sure. He did have a catch late in the innings so if he got hurt, he wasn't hurt enough to not play in the field.

In other news, why can't Philippe do in Shield what he does in the Marsh Cup?

Marsh Cup this year: 100, 37*, 73, 81, 51 (Average 85.5)
Shield: 10, 5, 24, 1, 6, 6 (Average 8.7)

Don't know if he's better as an opener versus batting at around 6, or if it's just a fluke based off small sample sizes.
