Great day, though i was seperated from my friends for most of it again!

Highlight definitely Iggy & The Stooges, Iggy is just something you have to see, he put all the other performers i saw to shame really. at one point during Real Cool Time he invited the crowd onstage, some people came on including me but the security wouldnt let me on! iggy was screaming "let that guy up now! let that guy up now!" but they didn't let me up  good fun though.

The white stripes were a bit of a downer after seeing The stooges, I had seen the Stripes before but they didn't seem as good, I dont think their sound really suits this type of setting.

I didnt see them but I was told by a friend that Beasts of Bourbon were just awesome and definitely worth seeing. Little known band The greenhornes were good too, they normally support The white stripes in the USA I believe.

I didnt get to see Mars Volta because they played at the same time as Stooges, but luckily they have a sideshow tomorrow night :thumbsu:

Just got back from Princes Park. Was dubious about seeing The Stooges as I didn't want to blow the image I had of them. No worries there. Absolutely AWESOME. One of the best sets I have seen by a band (and I've seen countless shows in my time). If you are thinking about going to see The Stooges DO IT. You won't be disappointed.
Also caught The Beasts who are 20 odd years together seem to have hit a purple patch as a live band of late. Great gig.
Franz Ferdinland......yeah I remember puberty - just!

I just don't get the praise thats being thrown the way of Iggy and his wrinkly mates.

I saw their set at the Gold Coast BDO and, maybe it was the alcohol and tiredness of a long day, but I simply wanted the old guy to shut up and get off the stage.

His high pitch screaming and constant swearing felt like he was simply trying to be cool for the kids.

Iggy Pop?

Iggy Flop for me.

Yeah Iggy has just started swearing (at 59) so he can appear cool to a lot of little try hards that were raised on triple j and think they know what alternative music is.

Nice way to get personal because some else has a different opinion.

You remain an Iggy fan and dislike Franz because you're old.

I'm the opposite because I'm young. You don't have to be angry about it.

I'll be working at the big day out in Adelaide & all i can say is that i'd rather be anywhere else as their isn't to many acts who i want to see this year. One year you get a very good card with the likes of Metallica, Jet etc the next you get sweet f*ck all. :thumbsd: Oh well at least i'm getting paid to watch a very ordinary looking line up of bands.

My mother always taught me that if I've got nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all. I'll leave you to figure whether I thought Franz were any good.

Saw Soulwax, Living End, Mars Volta, White Stripes and then went to the boiler room and saw 2manyDJs.

Also saw bits of Franz,Wolfmother and Iggy.

Was a good day got sunburnt as usual.

Roulette Dares went to right off :thumbsu: :)

Moron.

Can someone tell me how the **** Iggy is the most ripped senior citizen on the planet? He is truly a freak of nature.

Highlights:
1. Stooges (worth the price of admission alone)
2. The Beasts (Tex Perkins was really getting on to some of those water bottle torps...)
3. Magic Dirt (has to be the hottest rock chic going around)
4. The Living End (respect for a band that can get thousands of newbie punks raising their fists to a "hillbilly" interlude)
5. Short Shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

white stripes, franz and the living end were very ordinary.

kings of leon, wolfmother, the go-team, the beasts and iggy stole the show.

hey I shag sheep ya c***

And how is that working out for you?

Do they call? Send flowers?

Make sure you lubricate correctly and ALWAYS employ some sort of protection. I hope it works out, and you find one to settle down with. Relationships can be difficult, and don't listen to your mates. Having a life partner is not like living behind baaaaaaahhhssss.

Dolly's not a happy chappy with me ATM.......But hey good sheep are hard to find....... ;-)

Stooges, Rollins and Beasts were worth the price.

And if the guy with the bulldog watch who passed me the joint just as the Stooges walked out on stage is reading this-thanks.

How come you know so much about it?

highlights for me were iggy, shihad and john so... the stooges were just so loud, louder than any other band all day... they left my ears ringing... i was getting tired of the white stripes and i'm a big shihad fan, so i went and saw most of their set and they impressed as ususal... jon crowdsurfing on the bass drum at the end of the set was a highlight... and john so, speaking to the crowd after gerling played, was awesome... "WROCK ON MERBURNE"

Excellent! They are the three acts I am really keen to see. The Beasts will be playing a 75 min set in Adelaide on Friday. If you're a Beasts fan in Adelaide, get down to the Grace Emily on Thursday 2nd Feb for Brian Hooper's CD launch. Hopefully we'll get a Beastly surprise at the end of the night.
