Nothing is up.

This won't be the year for us luring big fish.

We are bringing in players that will develop in the next two seasons whilst building a war chest to attract higher quality free agents than the ones currently on offer in the next few seasons.

We won't be landing any significant names this season but I'm more than comfortable with that.

Picks/youth is the way to go.

Why don't we just buy the MFC & use them as our feeder side.
MFC stay at bottom, secure early draft picks & then trade their young & exciting talent to CFC after they have been developed. We give them our older guys who still want to play in the AFL (& assist the MFC youth). It's a no brainer.

Be easier to take over West Collingwood (The Blewboys) I'm mean shit, half the clubs there already.

Now that is a business mind!

Even the media came out after our de-listings and estimated we had 1.6mil freed up from them alone before Thomas and Shaw were brought into it.

Lachy who do you reckon would be a great pick up? I don't think Franklin is realistic but anybody else coming in mind?

On FA side no one I can think of this year that is in the top teir of players (like a franklin, D.Thomas etc), they could be making room for current players expected pay rises or FA next year.

I hope that due to Daisy compo we stay right away from any FA's and only trade or daft players in.

btw "Loki" (said like Low-key) was my old dogs (RIP) name, named after 'Loki' the norse trickster god.:thumbsu: haha

So.. didak is on 400k? And johnson is on 300k despite the club knowing they probably won't be playing in the seniors often? Also they are both veterans listed so 100k is out of the salary cap.

They are on around 200-250k (but effectively 100-150k of salary cap)

Didak on 400k is laughable

Depends on when they signed their last contract. If they were put on a three year contract 3 years ago, these figures suggested would be right. If they signed a one year deal last year, then I would imagine it would be reduced. In any case, no fan has any idea.

That's pretty cool. I've been researching Loki the father of hel. Is it a mythology or a religion?

It's not though Blaze. I'm pretty sure Dids signed a 4 year deal at the end of 2009 and it was reported that he'd be our highest paid player and $400k p.a. was the mooted figure.

Jolly also signed a 4 year deal worth similar money as reported at the time. No idea on Johnos and Kraks but $250-$300 not unreasonable for those guys.

You do realise these contracts aren't signed at the start of this season. They are 2-3 years old and players are paid what they deserve at the time. In Jolly, Dids and Johnnos case, they were all walk up starts and senior players in 2010/11 which means they would've been on good coin. This year they were no longer starting 22 so a perfect time to get rid of them, free up some cash and hopefully bring in a star or 2 via free agency.

We haven't freed up around 1.5 million for nothing.

Buckley has given Derek and Rocket a nice fat cheque to go shopping with. I'm excited to see what we walk away with.

If the club has some money to throw around why wouldn't they try to lure a big name? We're not Melbourne, we're not bottoming out, I still believe we have a core of players capable of taking this club to a grand final. **** picking up kids and developing for the next 2 seasons, get who we need NOW to win a flag.

Was actually signed in mid-to-late 2010, on a 3 year deal. He was running white hot that year, which likely means he was on good coin...

The Club is silent at the moment. It would be nice if they addressed the members after the trade period to give them a better understanding of where the club is heading. At the moment it just looks like a mad man has taken the wheel and we're heading for a car crash.
If u take bigfooty hypotheticals into account...
