Well with Pendles,Ball, Jolly and Sidebottom had very poor game and they can play a hell of a lot better.

With the 1st 3 they are some of our best players and just is exciting when they play better how much better the side can be:D

This is the perfect time for these players to get in form after having shockers last week, we have st.kilda next week and will be excellent if all these players will have a stella afternoon against the dees cos we will need them badly against the saints.

Add to those names Jack Anthony, who whilst okay up the ground, did nothing inside 50 which is where we need him. Even Leon Davis could be added to this list, he kicked goals but around the ground he was much quieter than usual.

When you consider that these guys were below their best and guys like Beams missed out, it really shows the significance of the win on Sunday i think. We have some serious depth now and aren't reliant on the same 3 or 4 every week.

My post failed due to a server problem but I was posting to mention Jack and also Trav as players that can still give us a lot more. The potential is still exciting on top of what we achieved this round.

Very Poor????
Sorry Dave, quiet or even passable would be ok but "very poor" is not accurate.

I'm with you mate, I thought that all of those players had a lot of room for improvement but by the same token I wouldn't describe their contribution as very poor or bad, I just think that they can perform a lot better. If they all do then we dont have to worry about playing the top teams twice they have to worry about playing us twice.

Pendlebury is my favourite Collingwood player, but seriously, that first half was the worst I've seen him play ever.

Thank god he improved in the second half.

Definitely a big year ahead for Collingwood, 20 years is a long time to wait... I would be dissapointed if we don't go all the way this year.

Ball was serviceable and Jolly was very quiet. Pendles had a poor game by his standards. It's great to see that we can manage a good win against quality opposition without everyone firing. What will we do to our opposition when everyone fires? I think our pre-season game against Port could be a bit of an indicator.

We need to send a strong message to the competition by flogging a very young Melbourne side this week.

Yeah what an odd first half, some of those things he did were like HUH?!? eg 2 on 1, he gets the pill and tries to give it back to Benny J who is providing the sheppard. WTF?

Having watched the reply I thought Ball was much better than watching it live. Made a presence ruck rovering and fits in nicely. He'll only get better. How about that diving mark? Great stuff Bally. :thumbsu::)

I thought Sidebottom was rubbish. His kicking was extremely poor. I've already called him a solid to good kick of the footy, yet some here persist in calling him an elite kick. I think he is clearly the former and I recognise this was just an off day for him.

Jolly was not near as dominant in the ruck as he should have been given how good he has proven to be in that area, but as with Ball, he will get better.
