" Chris Yarran was picked up as a No.6 pick in the 2008 draft. He's a player who caresses the ball rather than grabs it. At half-forward, a goal always seems a possibility when he's in near the ball.

But Yarran's performances at half-back during the pre-season makes you think of more possibilities again. He looks to love the fact that he can run straight at the ball. If he stays at half-back, he'll double his possessions tally. He could even become an All-Australian."

Looks like he is starting to get some 'outsider' recognition for his work in the NAB Cup/Challenge. :thumbsu:

If he can keep it up for the entire season there should be a few lining up to sing the praises of the recruiting and coaching staff who will have unearthed an absolute beauty.

Consistency will be the key for Yarran this season.

That's a shame.
Was hoping that Yarran's change in position would be kept under wraps, so a forward tag isn't put on him until a couple of match winning performances.
I guess Yarran is too skillful to be kept under wraps.

Love whay I've seen so far, but I want to see how he handles the forward tag before numerous loads are blown
When he is tagged it'll free someone like Russell or Bower, maybe even Gibbs up to run amok. They can't tag everyone if they want to kick goals. Can only be good for us and he has the tools to beat a tag anyway.

Thread was a toast hence the word toasted, not directed at the skin colour.

You and your racist attitude.

Relax mate, I lurked here long enough to know the whole "racist" in joke here, I meant nothing by it ;)

Not NOW.
Watching him on Saturday, thats who he reminded me of.
His decision making is brilliant.
Last year as a forward he was a follower
This year as a defender he is a leader.
He was directing team mates including Jammo.
Don't worry mate, we're all hoping for the same thing. I'm as big a fan of Yarran as you'll find. Just a bit wary about comparing a guy who's building towards a breakout season to one of the best players of the last twenty years, hope in time you're proven right though :thumbsu:
