I was just coming off a 100+ point win against some random online before our match, so I have absolutely no idea how it went so horribly wrong :(

hey all,.

back from overseas holidays.. very much looking forward to season 2, and hoping i can get a guernsey for it.

now to get my head around AFL live again :)

Yeah I was watching that result thinking 'shit, I'm gonna have a toughy here' then it was much of a no contest. So different to our usual games.:(
 
Well thats it for the bombers in the inaugral bf comp, game started well with the bombers kicking the first two goals, from then on was a complete scrap with neither side being able to take the advantage, with a couple of points in it at three quarter time, the bombers kicked the first of the last to be up by 4 points about 5 minutes in to the last, then the saints proceeded to kick 6 goals in a row to quickly finish off the contest. Well played mate, hope you do well in the finals

Thanks mate.... It was such a tough, scrappy game, and I was lucky enough to have some momentum in the last.
It was the super-sub that made the difference, with Jarryn Geary replacing Stevie Milne in the forward line at the start of the last quarter. He managed to bag three goals in just a couple of minutes to secure the win for the Saints. Gram was superb also, with 9 touches and three goals... 2 of which came in the last quarter.
I was really worried about this match, having not played the game in a week, and still being half asleep from nodding off earlier in the night.

With that, Thanks to hirdylloydy for allowing us to play a delayed game after I fell asleep and was 45mins late to the match. You're a good sport, and I appreciate you letting me still play the game.

Since Stakerz doesn't appear likely to reappear, I propose the following:

- I play hirdylloydy1 in an elimination final. Loser out. If I win, I play Adelaide and finals carry on as normal.
- If hirdy wins, then he's still in the comp and BlackMamba can choose who plays which semi (so BM can essentially choose his "path").

If anyone remaining in the comp has any issues with this suggestion, then I'll call it as a forfeit and I'll just go straight to the semis.

Will give until this time tomorrow and if all is agreed, hirdylloydy1 and I can play either tomorrow night or Saturday night.

I'll fixture BOTH semi finals for Sunday night.

Don't mind what's chosen. I would've thought you'd just be given the win, so you'd go straight through to play Adelaide....but I like the idea of giving hirdylloydy another chance.
I say the winner of that goes through to play Adelaide...

Even if I had a choice of what happens in the Semis, I'd have no idea who to choose....it's not like there's an easy option between anyone still remaining.
 
Ok, so looks like despite peoples being cool with a playoff between myself an hl1, he's more than comfortable with me going straight through via forfeit.

So be it. It'll be me vs Mahama in the semis. Will update the fixtures today. Semi Finals will be scheduled for Sunday, but if you want to play them earlier, go for it. :)
 
Game done against Jorel, after a false start with my moden crapping out during the 2nd quarter. Scores were pretty much tied at that stage anyway, so neither side disadvantaged. Anyway, actual results as follows:

Game was tight for the first three quarters, with the lead swapping hands mutliple times. Fortunately for me I managed to grab a bit of momentum in the last and got a few goals out of it. Few main things I noticed:
-My inability to hit handball or kick targets for the first half or so, with the ball often passing near the player, but evidently not close enough for them to take possession.
-Jorel's superiority in the marking contests. Tippet managed probably one goal, compared to May's 4; says it all really.
-I couldn't help but be super conservative with my bumping after the shenanigans from earlier this season... Pretty much tried to avoid bumping in 50/50 situations, though there was one play on the edge of Jorel's forward 50 line where he was slightly leading a race to the ball, and had a player completely in space 15 metres forward of the contest, left me with little choice.
-Game was played in very good spirits though, not a 50 metre penalty in sight (and only 4 frees for that matter).

Things I didn't notice:
-Scott Thompson. Seriously, I don't know how he racks up the stats like he does.

So bad luck Jorel, and once again thanks for the hard work in running this comp.

Generally the first possession getter at the hitout.

Dan Jackson is the same for me, can often barely notice him, yet ends up with 16-20 disposals in the game because he's been sharking the clearances from the hitouts and I'm more busy trying to get rid of it rapidly than paying attention to who is doing the getting rid of the ball.

Well played Mahama. You cover options so well. I couldn't spot up any leads, and I remember there being about 13 mins on the clock in the last and I was about 2 goals down. So I tried to work it out of defence being unable to find no space whatsoever. Before I know it, there's 5 mins left as you jump to a 3 goal lead.

Now that I'm out, I can tell you that I rather someone kick a goal on me than a point as it's frickin hard to find a way out of defence. :p Of course, I'm too stubborn to just give away a goal, but I'm honestly amazed whenever I can somehow get it out of defence. Everyone else just seems to do it with ease. :/

Anyways, that's my last game for a long while. My nephew wants to borrow the game and I told him he could have it as soon as this season is done.

I'll probably be back to it when the 2012 version is released (and hopefully a much better rated Eagles side! :))

Good point, Eagles are going to be bloody tough in the game next year. Dreading 2012 Bulldogs... Curious as to how they're going to rate players like Brian Lake and Adam Cooney though.
