One whose death makes the world a better place - notorious English criminal John Cannan at age 70. Was convicted of murder, rape, abduction and attempted kidnapping and serving life in prison at the time of his death.

He was the prime suspect in one of the UK's most notorious and puzzling unsolved missing persons cases - that of real estate agent Suzy Lamplugh - who vanished without trace from London in 1986 after leaving the office to show a client a property and has not been seen or heard from since. Her car was found the next day with the driver's seat set further back than it should have been, suggesting somebody far taller than Suzie had driven the vehicle.

Attempts to charge and prosecute Cannan in the Lamplugh case were not successful due to lack of evidence, and if he was involved he has taken his secrets to the grave, not that he was ever going to talk anyway.

English actress June Spencer aged 105. Her date of birth was Saturday 14th June 1919, the same day that the first non-stop Transatlantic flight by British aviators John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown set off from Newfoundland in Canada and landed in Ireland the following day. Also born that day was American actor, director and producer Sam Wanamaker, but he is long dead having passed away in 1993.

June Spencer, except for a break of a few years in the mid 1950s when raising her family was a voice on the UK radio soap opera 'The Archers', from 1950 all the way up to 2022.

This surprised me, as although I had heard of The Archers I thought it had finished up many years ago not still running, and that there would be no market for radio soap operas at all today. Hell, there's an ever-diminishing market for TV soap operas today with very few left, no new ones for years and declining viewers.

I am also curious of any celebrities there are still living today who were born prior to 01-Jan-1920, and who were famous before living to their advanced ages?
