I wasn’t a fan of Ange's inability to defend

But to be worse off with a so called defensive coach, particularly with his inability to win home games, why did it take so long to make the call?

Like we seriously could still go down, every team below us has either beaten us or drawn with us, 17th was bad last year, but we were safe, this year not so much.

Hopefully we can get a few players back and the players can enjoy playing some football again, which hopefully leads to much needed positive results at home in order to stay up.

Yeah keen for that.

Few AngeOUT nuffies thought Frank was going to be the world's best. Would make for some enjoyable reading.
Was Ange out but never wanted Frank. Had been saying from Feb last year that Iraola is the one we should be targeting

What a ****ing mess. The next manager needs be in the Ange mould to continue on from the work he started, Paulhinha is a loan I suppose but him and Gallagher might be completely useless for the next manager if he wants to be more ball dominant. It's just horrible from above. The need to go out and find a guy who wants to build a project like Arteta, not someone who wants to squeeze results next year. An give a sporting director 3 years to build a bloody squad and stop overestimating what Tottenham are. They are a 5th to 10th level squad with the finances to buy their way higher up

I can't stop thinking about how bad this is and how can a business worth as much as spurs be this negligent

You go from ultra attacking Ange to ultra defensive Frank
Ultra motivator Ange to 0 personality Frank
Ange who wanted Tottenham to be a super club to Frank who had 0 ambition
A guy who wanted to defend Tottenham to the bitter end to a guy who did nothing but try and make Tottenham as irrelevant and small as possible.

The lack of continuity was stark. I see that De Zerbi has been linked, not the worst choice but back to another Ange style manager which would just show how horribly run this club is.

The next manager won't win the PL with Tottenham, it needs to be a guy happy to work with a sporting director and pull the club up together. The next manager shouldn't be about maximising this current squad it's gotta be about building the next one

This actually happens frequently in football. The replacement manager is often some sort of "compensation" for the outgoing's perceived weaknesses and limitations. Clubs will do anything except select a similar manager so that they are seen making a big change. It's also a reason manager changes over time are about as successful as political handovers in terms of the long term picture.

The rare times where it is a "smooth" transition, either the squad is elite or the next manager is an obviously higher calibre (which is pretty rare).

That's why you can tell who the best run clubs are, Brentford and Brighton for instance have an identity as a club and the manager fits into their framework. Rather than the manager building the club.

The worst thing clubs can do is the man utd where they ignore everything behind the scenes and just pick random managers and go here fix it all here's all the money you need

Interim preferences with Poch or Naggelsmann lined up for the summer
1. Redknapp-Mason
2. Heitenga

Appointments right now
1. Alonso
2. Iraoloa
3. Klopp
4. De Zerbi (would likely blow up within 2 years)
5. Xavi
6. Silva
7. Glasner (wont end well)

Next manager needs to be someone who wants to build a squad over 5 years, now one who needs players now to try and finish 6th back to back, forget about squad depth it needs to be to build a good first choice XI the way Arsenal did. Sell off any crap and only spend on the right players not on just getting someone in like January

I'm actually expecting him to be fairly positive and not controversial, it may have ended badly but they gave him the opportunity to win a European trophy and he did. Might not be another Aussie to achieve that in our lives

jokes aside - I agree think Ange will be chill about it all.

I reckon Mark Milligan might be our best hope for another successful aussie manager. Doing good things at Newcastle Jets. Not near the same level but can't think of anyone else. Maybe Kisnorbo but he seems to have disappeared after the Marinos sacking.

He might actually get the interim role

Haha 0 chance, both the club and Ange way too arrogant and too stubborn to shake hands and make up. Spurs won't admit they got it wrong and Ange wouldn't take it

I was watching a spurs TV show the other day and they were saying multiple sources inside the club had said before the Arsenal game Frank spent the whole team talk talking up how good arsenal were to the point the players had to tell him to shutup basically

This is what worries me with simply changing the mask of the ghost that it is ENIC. We never get, and back a manager for 3+ years, it always seems to want to be an upward trend yet the next manager is forced to use players that dont fit said managers style.

Not good.

shows the lack of respect the players had for Thomas Frank
