If it was a fluke and we didn't plan it and tried in the PL we'd have finished 10th which he has regressed on. If ange had fit CB pairing and Kudus he'd have us top 6 for sure

He gave away the ball lazily 3 or 4 times tonight in terrible areas. Got better in the 2nd half

There was barely any build up play for most of the game. A few drives down the wings from Spence, Kudus and Odobert late was about it

Muani not great but we struggled to move the ball into forwards areas to give him a chance. Was important for the goal though. Won it and then the back header across goal to help set it up

Danso - League 1 quality 1st half, good 2nd half.
Dragusin - late cameo, didn't really do anything of note or look out of place

Simons - unsighted probably because he is suspended

Grey part of a midfield that struggled in the 1st half to have any control. Had more impact with a few nice moments once he was pushed further forward after Bergvall went off

Tactics - not sure there were any for the first 70 apart from hoping from a set piece. That first 40 minutes was as bad as any this year. Once it opened up, use the spaces down the wings

I just want us to not be shit. I know we won Europa last year but it was a wild ride like we would slip up at any chance we got.

Consistency in effort, beat the (shit) teams we should and be competitive and snag wins against the quality teams.



I miss that Poch era. Was so much fun, enjoyable, competitive and best of all, you knew players were willing to do what was needed. Grind a win at Stoke on a cold wet Tuesday night? sure. Win away at Old Trafford, not a problem. Now? it seems like whatever win we get is a fluke. It should be any loss we suffer is a fluke.

Wharton whilst not totally on it today is exactly what we're missing more than anything. He had twice as many progressive passes than our midfield 3 did in total. Muani on the left isn't working, he was awful besides the build up for the goal. Odebert's cameo was excellent and was good to see Radu back. Was a good result but a hard watch. 4 points off the blue scum in 5th is wild considering how insipid we've been. The Lewis kids need to pony up in January, hard to see any genuine elite talents coming though sadly.

A LB seems to be a priority

A St will be looked at, apparently Samu Aghehowa is one we're looking at.

Players may be allowed to depart if the price is right (looks at Brennan, Radu)

Seems midfield will be a priority but acknowledge January will be difficult to bolster with quality

Going all FIFA mode, you have an established star (Goretzka) and then either, a depth player (Sarr) and a youngster to develop for the future (Bergval).

That looks (Goretzka, Sarr, Bergval) much better than current (Sarr, Biss, Bergval)

Not a top player anymore. Has 4 goals in his last 40 or so games. He's basically got one or two maybe decent seasons left then he's cooked. I think it's a terrible investment and it takes even more minutes off Gray, Bergvall or Sarr

Sounds like Florentina are going with a loan - to - buy for Manor Solomon as we recall him from Villareal

Recalling Jamie Donley (Stoke) and Damola Ayayi (Doncaster) with Jamie looking for more minutes and Damola looking for a bigger club. Jamie had a great loan spell at Stoke last season, did he not?
