Rugby WC 2003. We had it one, and we lost to the Poms of all teams. Also we havn't played as well since either.

Definitely the world cup loss, held them for 92 and a half minutes, only needed about 30 more seconds and then that happens. Doesn't make us feel any better that they went on to win the thing.

For the other options, not really passionate about tennis/cricket, don't follow rugby and was too young to appreciate any North Grand finals.

Would have chosen the 2005 GF, but 2006 of course made it all better.
I didn't feel the slightest bit of disappointment at all for those other sports.

Great thread. Definately some heartbreakers in there.

The World Cup loss in 2003 sticks out - that was painful. As was the Ashes in 05 and Rafter's defeat in 2001 (even though Goran fully deserved it).

However, I voted for the AFL grand final option. Even though the game was over halfway through the 4th quarter, the 2004 GF was definately the most painful. We had come so close to winning 4 premierships in a row.

I voted for the Ashes last year, but I gotta add losing the 1998 GF to the crows :thumbsd:

i voted the rugby, priginally i would have said gf loss but winning this year softened the pain.

After the rugby with wilkinson and flatley goig head to head pretty much i wanted to kill wilkinson and any english supporter and i still do. :(

Italy loss and then the Ashes... the rugby final did hurt a bit but i had a bit of money riding on that.

I am lucky that ive never seen one of my footy teams lose a grand final, that would be the ultimate crying moment.

Good to see you got your priorities right :thumbsu:

Anyone remember 'that' Iran game in 97? Only a youngen but i swear i developed my 'pissed off attitude' there and then. That one hurt big time.

Equal second surely has to be Fabios Oscar and Johnnys field goal. Definitly not cool. But yet again we have blokes like Steven Bradbury....
