Bentick: Has almost cemented his spot in our best 22
Gibbs: Looks so cool uder pressure and has improved all of his game especially his toughness
Murphy: Has almost become elite
Jammo: Has probably been our best defender and is releshing taking the key players

id love to say jammo considering where he was drafted
bower was shaping up for a great year but injury takes him off the list unfortunately

just cant go past murph
he is on fire

just want to see who everyone thinks is the most improved player since last year.
Murph has definately taken his game to another level, just needs a bit of polish with the disposal by foot. Jordan Russell has been on a decent incline with improving his game, hopefully along with his improvement will come less turnovers, but a least he's taking risks and taking the game on. As the team grows i'm sure Jordan will too. Big Setanta seems to be on the right track atm, full of effort and heart, through hard work and persistence should be an asset for years to come. Jamo, from my interstate point of view has come from nowhere and seems to be very confident in his own ability, improving with every game under his belt. Grigg shows great signs of being a quality player, him and JR seem to be growing in confidence as the team gets better and more competitive. I believe a fair few of our younger players have taken a lot of the brunt from critics and supporters in the last couple seasons which imo has been unfair considering the losing enviroment they were brought into. But to cut a long story short i would have to say Murph, not sure if it's all been improvement or less attention from the opposition, but atm Murph for me.

I went with Murphy. I don't think he has necessarily improved the most, but I think he has taken the biggest step of everyone - from very promising 2nd year kid to star - he is fast approaching that elite bracket and it won't be long.

Bower because i never knew if he would make it or not but before the injury he was great.

generally if youre a defender getting picked at 20... youre doing something right :P

i was sold from the day the bombers picked up gumbleton at no.2, one reporter asked him who was the best player hes played against, and he chose bower in a hurry

Because they have been mates for a long time.

I know Bowers brother and have heard that the whole family knows gumby.

bentick has turned into the genuine b grade mid we need right now. improving all the time and knows his place.

bower and murph both been superb but just think he deserves a mention

I went for russell only cuz ive hav followed every moment this year with him. Every1 was calling for his head (rightfully so) but i feel his rise in confidence and skill has been great to watch. Actually looks a player lol

Gotta b happy with murphy (but i knew it would happen)
Grigg has come in leaps and bounds.
Bower and jammo fantastic!

I reckon Shaun Grigg is coming on beautifully. He is fearless, his skills are improving & I think he will be a 200 gamer for the Blues! I also think Bentick is becoming alot more consistent & is developing into a real player for us.

all them have improved significantly..setanta, hammo and russel played there best games at the club yesterday imo..

setantas game yesterday changed my opinion about where he should be kept for the rest of his time at carlton unless we find someone better than him in either draft at years end..

I think Setana has been great for us this year, and i have no problem with him lining up on teh best forward every week. He is quick, a good spoiler, gives 100% all of the time, and most of all hates being beaten which is a trait i dont neccesarily believe all other Carlton defenders share. i.e - always next time mindset, whereas Setana puts it all on the line every contest.
