MIDFIELD-----We are being destoyed at stoppages. Crumbing to losing rucks doesn't help but ffs how about trying to read it off the oppositions ruckman. It's time for new blood to have a crack but alas we have only drafted talls for the past 2 years. Most teams have their first rounders from last years draft playing but we dont have picks from the 2008 draft in our side.We are lacking in ruck and midfield and yet we only drafted KPP.

C'mon, drafting for mids in the last two draft wouldn't have given us bid clearance machines.

Our recruiting through the Ayres years has left a hole in our list in the 25-29 age group. We're copping it sweet now.

I agree it is a major concern. For years we had a decent midfield, but terrible forward line. Now we have a half decent forward line but the midfield is really struggling.

The future of our midfield is Vince, McKay and Dangerfield, who are the 3 I believe who have the potential to be midfield guns. We haven't seen enough midfield talent come through in the Bernie Vince age bracket.

I think Vince has reached the level of gun. We will need McKay and Danger to get there otherwise we will struggle. As much as we love McKay and Danger they don't get enough of the ball just yet. They need to start having games where they are BOG's as midfielders and tear apart games.

Cook, Sloane, Douglas, Jacky, VB, Symes will never be any better than good ordinary players at absolute best.

Going to set Porps and Knights aside as they have proven themselves up forward, but can they be damaging in the middle?

Martin and Otten I will reserve judgement for until they come back. really sucks they both had reco's. Especially Otten as I believe he may have been tried in the midfield this year which is what he was recruited for.

The younger guys I haven't seen enough of to comment, although Armstrong could be something.

Speaking of midfielders in that age group, Scott Thompson has just been plodding along of late. Needs to RAISE THE BAR.

Whatever happened to Porplyzia becoming our next elite midfielder?

Has this idea been put to the scrap heap due to lack of natural fitness or what?

Thompsons our only mid in that age group. He has old players and young players near him. He's been carrying our midfield for a while and he's playing injured. He's not the issue.

Reilly is the only other, although he seems pigeonholed into the HBF.

Another thing I have noticed in most of the team is a complete lack of foot speed. Also in the game today (as well as the two previous) pretty none of the kicks had any pace or penetration in them, they all looked like very tired kicks (except for Chris Schmidt's kicks).

Last 3 weeks we have looked like a bunch of plodders running around with slow kicks that don't go over 30m.

Even players that have penetration in their kick have had no penetration in their kicks, Vince is a prime example.

To add to that many kicks into the F50, or in general were more like rainmakers than aimed for a target. Many of them seemed to just hang in the air and once they dropped to ground, were calmy taken away by the opposition defence.

More work needed.

Also our lack of polish in handballs, when we are a handball happy side. Far, far too manyhospital handballs, and handballs ending up at the recipient's feet or behind him. If we're going to handball in preference to kicking, we need to atleast get it right. When we're on song with the handballs, the long chains are beatiful to watch, but so far this year it just hasn't happened more than once or twice a game.

Our biggest problem is the new logo. It's C**P. It's having a negative influence on the playing group. Obviously the logo is cursed :D
