Billy is very affable but completely incapable of adding any sort of input to a football discussion.

Don't like him, but that's something which goes back to the '94 finals.

You remember the one "Billy, you are king of Geelong...woohoo the monkey's off the back, Billy..." It still gives me the shakes.

Does anyone know why the monkey was on his back anyway?

He had a very poor G.F performance in 1992 (don't worry - he had a few mates in that regard) and, between then and about a third of the way through 1994 went through an extremely quiet period down at the club. He was out of favour with Blighty and he wasn't finding the pill at all on the ground.

I remember he took a few weeks off and went up to Queensland to sort his shit out. He did so, had a fairly good end to the year and that winning goal after the siren finally saw Blighty carrying on and hugging him and everything was right as rain after that.

The monkey was off the back!
