Finished this last night and I have to say other than having one of the best endings to a game I've ever seen I was pretty underwhelmed. I still think the first one was the best. This one looked nice sure but it just didn't have the same atmosphere and that's what made the first game such a classic imo.

Agree, except I think this one had a great atmosphere but not as good the first. Still a fanstastic game though. Finished it on hard and might do another run through on 'easy' to understand the story better.
I always take a long time with these games because I loved exploring every little detail on first play through.

Loved the rebellion/shanty town level.

Been reading up on the ending and finally understanding it fully, its more amazing.

Finished this baby on the weekend, not bad but I wouldnt say it's the best ending of all time like other's, also wouldnt put it as goty either.
Now admitingly I only played on easy  (just wanted to smash through it really) but did anyone else find they mainly used the same weapons/vigor throughout the game?

I'm doing it on easy as well. Any harder and I likely would have quit like the last two......

It's become really good. I'm up to the part:
Insane asylum or something like that

Epic at this stage but I agree it currently isn't my GOTY.

Nearly finished.
I have Tomb Raider ahead of it.

That was probably the best part of general play for me. Definitely had atmosphere a lot closer to the first game than anything else.

Those packs of Washington robots and the weird sentry things with the loudspeakers and searchlights for heads were pretty freaky.

I'm not all the way through it but I agree it's a lot like the last two in that spot.

Bloody freakie. I'm staying strong.

I never worked out if it was actually possible to kill the sentry and avoid having to deal with all the robots. I suspect it wasn't because everytime I thought I had him cold he still managed to sound the alarm. I was playing it in medium/normal difficulty.

I realised after the second light head guy that I could avoid them.

Yeah you're cooking with gas now.

I absolutely loved the journey the last hours take you on.

I went through on Medium and found that the right level of challenging, I'll probably breeze through on easy when I get the time to mess around with some of the vigors I neglected.

Loved the stuffing out of this one. Did find I only very rarely needed to mix up the weapon mix (Carbine + Hand Cannon) when went through on easy (sue me, I was interested in the storyline).

Top-notch story, scenery, ending.

Is there much difference in the game apart from being harder?

This guy explains it in the same manner as I could.

The bigger enemies (Patriot, Fireman, Crow) are bloody hard as hell. The vigors don't have the lasting effect anymore so you really need to combine them for effect, which depletes your vigors so quickly.

It's definitely a mode for somebody who's beaten the game a couple of times at least. It requires alot of memorizing where things like Infusions are.

This guy mentions The Handyman ... I'll say that Lady Comstock fights are the bloody most frustrating things ever on this mode, especially the second form.

Bought this game upon release, only just got around to playing it (finishing up other games so I can fully focus on this), loved it, went straight into 1999 mode and loving that aswell.

Great game.

Let me know if you have a good strategy for The Handymen or Lady Comstock enemies.

Hate those motherfu**ers.

Siren made rediculously easy:

As for the Handymen, you'll want a gear called "Winter Shield", makes you invincible when jumping too and from Sky-lines. Meaning you can jump to the skyline, jump off and into the handyman and back onto the skyline, rinse and repeat until dead, without losing any health.

As for a standard build, this one works great:

Just finished the game now, ended with over $6000, only upgraded Charge and the Carbine.

I think I had winter shield and dropped it for something else. :)

Thanks for the tip. I've finished 1999 mode though but another play through is in order now to own those bitches.
