Multiplat BioShock: Infinite

The 1st Bioshock still the best for me. This got close but in the end Rapture was a more interesting world for me. Going back there towards the end was a brilliant surprise.

I played the original through again on hard again a few weeks ago (after getting the DL with Infinite) and it's still so awesome.

I agree in that I preferred Rapture as a setting, but Infinite's story line is one of the best created IMO. Hard to separate the 2 overall, but I'd got with the original by a nose.

Infinite for me, I loved being part of a thriving world.

Rapture was great, but I wasn't in love with the feeling of nothingness. It didnt make sense that some of the characters were still there surrounded by splicers. The characters made much more sense in Infinite.

Infinite is easily the GOTY so far IMO. And I'd say I enjoyed it even more then the 1st Bioshock.

In saying that though, System Shock 2 > Any Bioshock

I have just finished playing Infinite and was really impressed with the graphics, the story and the gameplay. I have enjoyed Bioshock 1 and 2 but thought that Infinite was the most satisfying to play. Although, generally I prefer plasmids to vigors.

So just finished up and wow, one of the best storylines's I have played through in a video game! The ending blew my mind grapes haha, I put a little bit of it together here and there but then had to read up afterwards to really grasp the overarching themes.

Played through on Normal and I agree with a few little gripes about the gameplay here and there, I basically played with the Carbine/Shotty setup the whole game, only changing up through to lack of ammo, only really cycled between a few of the Vigors as well Possesion, Bucking Bronco, Murder of Crows. It seemed like the battles really drew out at times and the Handymen I felt were cheap enemies. But all in all I was enthralled from start to finish. At this stage I have Last of Us well out in front for my personal GOTY and then this and Tomb Raider on the same level below. :thumbsu:

Oh and also I hadnt realised I had been signed out of PSN so thus only collected 2 trophies, I didn't even get the beat Normal mode thus opening up 1999 mode, raging pretty hard over here :mad:

Not being signed in shouldn't affect your earning of trophies.

Yeah that's what I thought, but I googled it and this seems to be a known issue with this game  I could see the counts going up for all the objectives eg Search 200 crates etc and then it would get to 199 and roll back to 0, super pissed!

cheers, I actually did that but spelled spoiler wrong.
Like most, the world was amazing. Loved every bit of it, looked in every nook and cranny, even though I only ended up with 50ish of he 80 audio logs. Anyone who completely *got* the ending 1st time is a liar.
One thing that made me wondering WTF
Yeah Booker was Comstock. I went "No ****ing way" as Comstock looked 80ish. Made no sense to me. Th fact his time tearing thing made him prematurely age was a sly move by writers and it must have been buried in a auido log I didnt see
The use of
of founding fathers as enemies was amazing. Killing robot Washington and Lincoln and then those zombie Ben Franklins was just...weird
Overall, the combat was an 8/10 compared to the rest of the game which was 10/10. In particular the gun play was just meh..With plenty of games that have powers like vigors, designed to be experimented with I found 2 problems.
1. Didnt get enough time to use vigors and properly experiment. 10 hour campaigns and all those vigors and combinations...some I felt went underused.
2. Also, I felt like I could use the same 3-4 in any situation. The last 4 hours felt like I only used shock jockey and undertow. The game should demand through a mechanic that you need to use all of them.

CBF waiting for GTA V to be delivered, so I went out and bought this to keep me occupied in the mean time. Looks pretty good so far, the art direction is amazing. I just wished I had avoided spoilers shortly after its release, because I didn't think I would ever play it. Oh well. It still looks to be an intriguing experience nonetheless.

That ending... my head. I totally didn't see it coming, but it almost makes complete sense... almost. I feel like somebody unscrewed my mind, spun it through a washing machine, and put it back together again with tape.

I think I'll take up drinking because I could use one after this.

Just got thus 2 days ago for 30 bucks also because I'll wait for some GTA v preowned to pop up.

Looking forward to this as I have heard good things about the ending.

How long did it roughly take to play through?

I'd say 10-15 hours for the campaign.
