was on the City Cat yesterday heading into town for Little Britain Live and we were watching a couple of blokes kicking a footy about in the park next to the Hawthorne Bulimba ferry stop and I mentioned that that blokes got a good kick on him and my partner says hang on a minutes that's Blacky!! Future not all Black for Brisbane Lions

Looking at Brisbane's growing injury list, veteran midfielder Simon Black used the "f" word when asked to assess the depleted Lions' 2007 AFL season chances.But the word he used was "finals".
A new era may have begun for the Lions as they begin life without inspirational skipper Michael Voss.
But it was the same old story on the injury front when the three-time AFL premiers announced their team for Saturday night's NAB Cup pre-season clash against St Kilda in Cairns.
Five youngsters will be blooded against the Saints in what resembles an under 23 Lions side after its injury list blew out to 16 following the withdrawal of key forward Daniel Bradshaw and exciting draft pick Matthew Leuenberger (both back).
Chris Schmidt, James Hawksley, Matthew Tyler, Sam Sheldon and Haydn Kiel were the new faces in a 28-man Lions squad announced on Thursday.
However, Black - who will share captaincy honours with Luke Power and Chris Johnson for the clash - believed an "excited" Lions have what it takes to make the final eight for the first time in three years this season.
A brutally honest Black all but ruled out Brisbane winning the NAB Cup but backed his side to give the competition a shake once they welcomed back the likes of key players Jonathan Brown (hip) and Nigel Lappin (ankle).
"Everyone is really looking forward to the next era, building the club up again and trying to be a force in the AFL again," Black said in Cairns.
"Everyone says we are in the rebuilding phase but we still firmly believe when we have our best side out there we can give anyone a run for their money.
"We are a group at the moment where we don't really know where we are at in the football world.
"Last year we had a lot of injuries and struggled but with our best side up and running we would like to think we could make the finals."
Black said the Lions had been thrashed in the pre-season by coach Leigh Matthews to bulk up the young group and address concerns about what was once Brisbane's strength - its running game.
"It has been probably the toughest pre-season the guys have had at Brisbane," Black said.
"We've got a young side now so they have been in the gym lifting weights each week and our running compared to other clubs probably wasn't up to scratch so we've had a fairly lengthy running component."
Black is part of the Lions leadership group that also includes Brown, Johnson, Power and Lappin but is not reading anything into his co-captaincy nod for the Saints clash as speculation mounts over Voss' successor.
Meanwhile, Jared Brennan - recovered from shoulder surgery - and ruckman Beau McDonald are the only two players to be included in the squad that didn't participate in last week's intra-club match.

i know but they talked more about power as if he's brisbane's midfield, and even though is a great player, he's just not on par with black. PS. I'm not trying to say anything bad about any of the lions.
 
Just did an image search on google under 'simon black' and photos of the following came up

- the rolls royce 'spirit of ectsasy' statuette
- an aston martin DBS
- a saville row bespoke suit
- a rolex watch
- an 87 toyota landcruiser (must have been for the reliability?)
- some summer truffles
- a floating butterfly
- a stinging bee
