Do you mean pick 31, 42 in this year’s weak draft and 2027 F2 in the expanded/compromised draft?Did you also say 3 second round picks picks backs one of which will be better than one of the first rounders we got?

Yep but 2x1sts in 2027 and 1 in 2028 gives us something to work with and that's before the trade period next year where more can be done. It's a good starting point. Our 2x firsts in 2026 are for Cody Walker.
We have 2x firsts in 2027 that we can do, in a majorly compromised draft.
Why would our 2nd be better than a Sydney 1st?Did you also say 3 second round picks picks backs one of which will be better than one of the first rounders we got?
If we can add any of butters,Bailey or king as a f/a will be handyHighly unlikely we will chase a big name at the trade table next year.
We won't be trading away our first rounders as we need them for Cody.
A free agent is our best shot to bring in an A grader.

True Ten, but the Devils must use some of their round 1 picks for established players, so if there’s any Carlton players they’re after who knows what R1 capital we might end up with to chase a top draftee? Our 2x firsts in 2026 are for Cody Walker.

But why would Humphrey have nominated us over Hawthorn who were keen and had the currency? If he was genuinely up for trade, Hawthorn would have pivoted from Merrett and gotten that deal done. In 12 months who knows where his preference may lie...This year was our chance, we had the currency to get a deal done.
Unless we trade out players in 2026 or Tassie gets pushed back can’t see us having any chance at Humphrey or Butters.
We'd have 2 x 2027 first rounders and a 2028 as well we could use to trade.Highly unlikely we will chase a big name at the trade table next year.

Yes, but we can use those picks to trade with Tasmania to get a higher pick. The draft is compromised, but Tasmania have to trade picks as well. In their inaugural 2027 draft (picks 5, 7, 11, and 13) and the fifth pick in both the 2028 and 2029 drafts. We are in a great position to trade with them.Already addressed this. Basically, when we've got 26 first rounders and we're chasing an A grader from another team, they will want those picks.
27+ picks will be in compromised drafts.
Factor in as well the strength of 26 draft.
Imagine for argument sake, Harry requests a trade next year... he nominates a club with 2 firsts in 26 draft but they're only willing to give up their 27 firsts... would you take that deal?
If we play our cards right, we should be offering those 27 1sts to Essendon for another 26 first.
Hey, respect for owning it at the very least!

Ryan Burton is another option. Sign Harry Lemmey again. Delisted free agency is hereSydney piss farting around till the last 5 mins also left us no time to get the Buku trade resolved.
Big responsibility for a draftee to hold down a KPP in their 1st year. Would prefer to build into the side, and their body in a lesser role and VFL learnings.Dean and HOK holding down keys is a concern, apart from that its a balanced team.

It’s pretty funny, we are all taking the piss about “Frank the Tank” but in reality the best games Mots has played doesn’t come close to what Frank was doing.Motlop not playing in front of Ainsworth Hayward Moir Williams or FRANK THE TANK.
Agree with the necessaryBest of a bad situation
Necessary shift in the side. Might be another year of 12-13th but we are building nicely now
I'm hoping that the first time in a long time we wont have a draftee playing regulalry in the seniors for the first half of the year at leastBig responsibility for a draftee to hold down a KPP in their 1st year. Would prefer to build into the side, and their body in a lesser role and VFL learnings.
Only 193cms too?
Frank is a dead set gun. I'm not even joking. His last couple of games were elite. It’s pretty funny, we are all taking the piss about “Frank the Tank” but in reality the best games Mots has played doesn’t come close to what Frank was doing.
He was ****ing amazing & I for one think he will only get better with a strong side working around him.
It’s no longer a piss take, he is a genuine part of us being better - he’s actually demonstrated ability repeatedly for a block of games.
You put that with Harry leading up hard, Moir, Hayward, Ainsworth, Williams that a seriously dangerous forward line. Everyone of those players has the X factor we want from Mots & are better footballers
I think we would have liked it too, living up to our word is important but they got greedy.I would have liked to do the Buku deal just because we committed to him and obviously had him earmarked, but with that not happening, I do feel like we can still easily 'replace' him, for want of a better word.
