I admit most Bulldogs players look the same to me. i.e. around 6 foot, play in the middle or flanks, love chip-kicking, hate contested footy, and are unable to pack-mark. Only a few standout from the norm. Everitt is one. I'll try to take more notice next year. :)

Sorry. That explains everything, P...

Get well soon! That's from everyone at BF.

I still say you're either Peter SasseGum or one of his relations. Just for fun, try posting your garbage on the Tigers board. I would love to see their reactions! :D :)

That was a quote from 2 weeks ago. I listened to Fanta today. He said today "he is a required player", but in the next breath he says "we're open to offers but we haven't received any...yet?. A little ambiguous eh. lol. Don't you just love trade week. Fact is they're waiting to see how this Lake grab-for-cash gets resolved, and that outcome together with the offers they get from other Clubs, will determine if Everitt stays or goes. Not confident he'll end up at the Blues, but the door is still ajar. :)

I heard something like that. I think he said that Everitt is a required player but you never say never. He said something like: trade week is all about understanding what other clubs want and what they are willing to give up (in relation to Everitt). My reading of that was that they want a good deal for Everitt or they will keep him. I guess that is the case for most players on every list so I am not sure I would read much into it. Really don't see how Carlton can possibly end up with him. You would think that he has shown enough to justify his high draft pick but is probably still to speculative to trade - i.e. he is still worth more to the Bulldogs than to any other side.

Fantasia just on SEN again. Said pretty much the same thing. Added that there has been a lot of interest in Everitt but said again that he is a contracted player. He also said that WB are not interested in Fevola but you "never say never". So pretty guarded all around. Suspect that Fevola is not going to WB and Everitt would get traded for the right deal but would need to be a pretty high pick.

I still think this boy will be at the Blues next year. If he truly is disgruntled and wants out of the Bulldogs like the reports have suggested, then the Dogs are just playing hard ball and it'll come down to the last day.

Rightly so might I add. You'd want to get more for him.

Still a long way to go in trade week but you wonder what Carlton could give that would get him. Pretty sure our second round pick won't do it so it might come down to what we get for Fev (if anything). Also, I am not sure he is disgruntled? I would have thought that he must think with another preseason, he will get more opportunities next year and WB must think they are a shot for the flag next year. That must be a pretty powerful thing for a young guy just starting out.

While I'm not hopeful, perhaps you can make your "debut intelligent input" for this thread and tell us what's happening with the Lake deal. News just out from the Bulldogs officials that the Lake negotiations have stalled. This is huge news, and will impact this potential Everitt trade. :)

Do you still think we are going to trade Everitt:).

Well like every player, he could be traded, guess it depends on what is offered for him and if the dogs think its worth moving him on. There is speculation about different players each year, but not alot of these deals get done because clubs want a rolls royce for a mini.

Another of the week's major deals, involving Luke Ball, may have progressed, however, with a three-way proposition that could take Ball to Collingwood, Andrejs Everitt from the Western Bulldogs to St Kilda and Collingwood's second-round selection, pick 30, going to the Western Bulldogs being explored last night.

While the Dogs have suggested that a pick inside 20 is required for Everitt, who is contracted for two more seasons, their tight salary-cap position may mean that they need to get the 20-year-old defender out in order to keep Jason Akermanis and Nathan Eagleton.

Offer the Dogs pick 27.

I'm quite sure Collingwood will make a fair and equitable offer of pick 30 for Luke Ball. :o

We should ask for the lions second rounder in the Fev deal then use it to help get Everitt.

When are people going to get it through their thick heads that no matter what you think of the deal, that is the best we are or were ever going to get. And once a deal is done in principle, a la Brock/pick 11 and the Fev/Bradshaw-Riska deal you cant go back and ask for more, the deal is done and was the product of the negotiation, I am sure we asked for more and were offered less and the deal is where both parties ended up. Move on.

And as another poster has pointed out to you, Brisbane dont have a second rounder to trade, they have used it in other deals.

Do you have any idea how insulting to all our intelligence it is to hear of all the whiney alternatives posters are wishing for as if our negotiating team are so dumb as to accept the first deal that came along (see collingwood pick 30 as an example) or that we should have got better. We cant get better, that is the best that is on offer. Deal with it and stop whining. All of you.

Completely agree. It's really starting to p*ss me off seeing every thread full of ppl whinging about it all... The way I see it, we got what we were going to get, because, hang on, Carlton don't want Fevola anymore. At least we have a proven goal kicker put straight there.. put Waitey and Kreuze there next to him and we become a lot harder to stop than when we ONLY KICKED TO FEV! Our midfield looks amazing too, and who's to say we won't snare a KPF at 27?
It's the way it's gone, we're gonna have to accept it eventually, so why not start now....
