I don’t think Cox will do anything radical. He’s now a coach under pressure & if anything, that’ll likely drive even more conservatism in selection.

They should only count tackles that impact and stop a player , some of ours are shocking

Yep, it would look even worse for our players if tackle efficiency was recorded as a stat.

I'm all for making a statement at selection, but as it stands we'd be dropping a senior player for poor performance, just to select a reserves player for ... poor performance.

Not sure what message that actually sends.

We get sporadic good performances from some in the VFL but Kirk probably the listed player that earned it the most on the weekend, although having missed a bit of VFL recently I don't know if he's been consistent enough. Maybe Mitchell for just slogging it out week after week in VFL, but hardly a great reason.

Sheldrick getting a full game is a must, and Paton should be first out. Other than that, a swap of a tall for Ladhams and bringing in one of Kirk, Mitchell or Hanily as sub probably the best we can do.

Maybe we see Kirk's game on the weekend or Hanily's 3 goals the week before as enough to get a full game, then we could drop another senior player I guess.

Likewise the reserves form isn’t that flash. Cox should reward players form in the 2’s with a senior game when they earn that opportunity. He’s probably just waiting for someone to do that.

To show making of players earning a game, vfl players have to actually earn a game. No one's earning a game, there for there is no point dropping an unearning player to bring in another unearner.
