Who will he play on? R.Murphy? Robbins? Johnson? Because all our injuries are to KPP's, we currently have a midget forward line. He would literally have no proper match-up, especially if it rains. Doubt there's anything sinister in it.

your talking about him in a negative way. Do you think WC would have dropped Jacovich is Carey didn't play for North Melbourne ? I player is good regardless of the conditions and matchup. (not that I am saying Bock is in his league just yet :) )

It's not like the guy is a lumbering tall like Primus he is quite athletic, put him at CHB and tell him to mark everything that comes his way.

You could almost present a case to move him further back and have rutten forward as he is more the 1 dimensional lead and punch or Mark type player. Ok Rutten is better than that but my point is Bock as more flexibilty than Rutten running around the ground.

I assume this means we'll be seeing McGregor at CHB again.
thats how I see it MN as he is our only other matchup @ CHB.........but after 2 goals 2 and 13 marks at CHF . - - - why would we move him ?????........

Bock had allowed us to release Kenny to CHF....... :(

WTF ?

Guys, I really like Bock, but this week you are one tall too many. Maybe it should be Hensctell dropped instead, but you won't need so many talls for this week only.

Not too concerned, it obviously comes down to matchups and after looking at the teams, one of our talls had to come out. Hentschel offers more versatility, he's slightly more useful up forward, so I don't see any problems. Bock could very well be straight back next week at the Dome against the Kangas.

I'm more interested in this closed training session....

On the other hand, I am very pleased to see both Knights and VB survive the chop in the same week. I'm sure in Knights would be looking at playing a little over a quarter which would be fair at his stage in development.

Well summed up ant. I'm a bit disappointed for The big Chook, but if this is correct, and it's a team balance thing then he would probably be the first tall to go. As you say Trentschel is a better bet up forward, and can go back if required.

Bocky will be back against the Roos.

Agree with others in that I will wait until my eyes see it for real.

The decision makes sense, but seems so non-Craig-like. Bock was in excellent form until the game against Freo and it would be harsh to drop him.

If this is the case then its good for The Count and Boogie Knights.

I'll wait till I hear the news.

Interesting decision, but I guess one of our complaints with Gary Ayres was that he was reactive not proactive in regards to match ups.

Nobody can accuse NC of doing this so it shall be interesting if it comes out.

Great to see Van Berlo and Knits getting another shot.

Surprising to drop Bock - if anything we have too many tall forwards for wet conditions. If we are so concerned about being top heavy, why have we named 2 talls with Massie as emergencies?

Will do him good.
He is still young and inexperienced, so a few games in followed by some out will keep him focused at this stage of his career.

NC seems to be doing well when it comes to youngsters.
The test wrt youth selection will come once he has got the team just about the way he likes it and see if he keeps rotating youngsters through after that.
That is when some coaches forget how they got there in the first place.
However so far he has been Vgood.

KG announced on 5AA the Egales side and Watts (CHF) and Bock (CHB) are both named for WWT.

Bock won't play for the Crows this weekend.

Would think its a combination of matchups and motivation. Bock can be a bit lazy in his preparation, thats why it took him so long to get a regular spot. Used to think he didnt have the talent either but he proved he has. Needs a kick up the bum now and then.

He'll be back better for it.

I woul dhave thought if Paddler is still out you would want a tall defender to replace him and release McKenzie in the midfield

Yeah, some good points PAF. I suppose that I have missed all Bock's good games whilst I have been away OS & haven't seen him do too much since I have been back (the last 2 weeks) & was hoping to see what everyone was talking about. He has looked better than before I left, but I'm still to be convinced.

He did a superb job at CHB on Riewoldt - looked much more comfortable. Even took a contested one-handed beauty.

After that he maintained that form until he was thrashed by Pavlich against Freo.

I've been one of his biggest criticises but he's shown a lot recently. Should come back into the side next week if the weather is good at the Dome. ;)

If Bock is dropped for Sunday's game, it can only be because the Dogs are a smallish side and we would have too many talls in the AFC's opinion.

Personally, I'd be disappointed if he is dropped for this game as I think we currently have a good structure and I hate meddling with structure as it can alter the whole way the team plays - and the way we are playing at the moment is a winning way.

If it weren't for the closed training session on Saturday am I would be treating the naming of Bock with WWT as a ruse. However that makes me feel that they are fair dinkum about it and that Hentschel will go to CHB for this one.

Ins: Welsh

Out: Bock

if that is going to be the case.

NC could be waiting for Saturday morning weather report for Sunday to get the structure right for either wet or dry. Probably why the closed session.
If we are too top heavy up the front then perhaps the Sarge could go to CHB as he did once before. Again hence the closed session.

This will do Bock the world of good. He is far from an established player and if he is getting a fraction lazy, then he needs a kick up the bum every now and then. Good positive stuff from Coach Craig!

As long as he is back next week :)
I supppose ig NC is doing this because of WB structure then we must applaud him for being pro-active. As long as Bok is bought back in when we need him once more....next week :)
