We definitely missed him, going through one major fitness test at the minute to prove that he is fit enough to stay on our list, probably 50/50 at this stage, unless anyone else has heard anything back in Adelaide that I havn't on the GC.

He's late 20's around there... 28/29? He's not exactly a young'un. We really missed him though. The forward pressure he creates is emmense- He was top in AFL for inside 50 tackles. He created so many goals for us just by putting pressure on our opponent defenders when rebounding resulting in them turning over the ball to us.

He's 28. DOB 29th June 1979.

I'm undecided whether or not we should retain him. He IS a quality player, as we all saw in 2006. Problem is that 2006 was an aberration, in that he played almost every game. He missed most of 2005 & 2007 with injury - which sadly for him is situation normal. A fantastic contributor when fit, but is so rarely fit that he's a liability on our list.

Will be an interesting decision for the AFC.

IMO, Bode should be delisted. We need to partially rebuild & given he is injured most of the time, we need to cut our losses.
 
Agree with all, needs to be delisted. He's 28, has played something like 100 career games over 9 or 10 years, which is a really bad appearance rate and talent hasn't been the issue, just injuries.

Delist and give Vince the opportunity he deserves as a permanent member of the team, rotating through midfield/forward line with somebody like Thompson.

If you've been on an AFL list and played a certain amount of games, I think that rookie listing requires exceptional circumstances (Ramanouskis, Lonergan etc), having a phenomonally unreliable body doesn't qualify.
 
offer him around the trade table. if no one takes him then he should be signed up for a 1-2 yr contract..

His value is worth far more to us than any other club. We need a crumbing forward. Why would another club take a gamble on him? When we are off-loading him for no other reason than we don't want to gamble again.
 
Its all about gambling though. The odds of him playing 20+ games are buckleys and none. Another player, lets say vince or even douglas, is far more likely to be able to go out there every week and do the role, no upsetting structure or the playing styles of others because you don't know who's gonna be down in your forward line when your kicking it in.
 
If the crows are at all serious about rebuilding, getting rid of Bode is a no brainer. If no one wants to gamble with him at the trade table don't that tell us something? He will be delisted after trade week, surely.

Exactly.
 
we are (****in should be) entering a "rebuilding" phase....the likes of douglas, vince, pfieffer, campbell, mac kay must be blooded to see if they have what it takes......bodey simply stands in the way of that...

sure, bodey gets back to his best kicks 40+ goals, leads the league in tackles inside etc etc but we'll still finish 9-13th and we're back at square one...

he'll go down as one of my favourite players ever but he'll be told some bad news in the next two weeks i'd suggest....

Agreed. We've got no other small forward better than him and offloading him for virually nothing isn't much value to us. Much better keeping him. We were a much better side with him in... much more forward pressure. The opposition this year just rebounded it so so easily this year. Our forwards just don't know how to chase/couldn't be stuffed. Bode will be a regular next year if fit.
