No 50+ goal season since Walks in 2011 with 56, but I'll go Gov to snag 52.

Knowing my luck this will go well and he'll end up kicking 13 in Round 1.

No 50+ goal season since Walks in 2011 with 56, but I'll go Gov to snag 52.

Knowing my luck this will go absolutely pear shaped and he'll end up kicking 13 or something.

Please don't use McGovern and pear-shaped in the same post...

With a fit team and a Flying Levi... There's a small argument that Gov is missing out. Can you really play all 4? Maybe?
That's when MM will shine, being the 3rd or 4th forward
Gets the 4th or 5th best defender ... look out
Not to mention that Gov-Light is not the same as Gov-Lite...

Mitch almost certainly plays every game if fit. He'll be better for his newfound fitness, he'll be better if he's getting an inferior defender (if 2 or more of Levi, Harry & Charlie are up and about), he'll be better if our mids are getting more ball and providing better deliveries into the forward line, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's better for having his old mate Eddie running around his feet. I'm sure that Teaguey is loving that he'll have two of his key forward components from his Mitani days when they were the highest scoring team in the comp...

Then there's the bonus that Mitch provides us with a backup tall/key/intercept defender in instances that we need more support down back and/or a Jones/Weit/Plow/Marchbank/etc goes down mid game for whatever reason.

Actually, I'll revise my original statement: Mitch plays every game this year that he is available for selection.

There will be 8-9 list changes come season's end
Business as usual then ...

Simmo and possibly some or all of Ed, Kreuzer, Betts and Murphy to retire
Couple of second - fourth year players cut loose if they can’t leapfrog others such as Finbar, Polson, Macreadie, Goddard, Owies and Cottrell. Add Lang to this group of need to show enough to survive
Couple traded as surplus to requirements or for picks needed to fill gaps such as Fish, Kennedy, SPS, Levi, Cunningham, Plowman and Marchbank. All might attract decent offers

That’s about half the list without even trying

That's below league average Coona, only 2 sides had less than 7 changes, Tigers and Dogs
Not about numbers, it is about names. One or two retirees. I only see maximum of four main listed in any danger of delisting. Sure, may be some decisions on rookies.

While many need maturity, our list is now stable. Most have ten years left, so not all "marginals" will go in one year, as minimum three changes annually.

I agree that it is all about the players, but I still believe as a total squad, there will be 8-9 names

The possibilities/probabilities:

Delistings:
Polson
Macreadie ( really hope he gets clean air)
Lang
Finbar
Goddard
Owies

Retirements:
Simpson
Betts

Trades: (Other clubs will come sniffing)
Marchbank
Kennedy

That's 10 without trying

Would have thought that 8-9 list changes would be more a statement of fact than for any prediction.

Currently, we have 20 players without contracts beyond this year, with only 4 players I feel will be guaranteed contracts for following years - Williamson, Gibbons, Plowman and Cottrell.

Even players Kreuzer and Murphy aren't guaranteed anything should injury and poor form intervene and no guarantees on BSilvagni either.
I feel Kennedy will be traded out also.
