Be kind ladies and gents first thread here.

To the point How should bootsmas development be handled, the cfc has a history of starting new player behind the ball to help them learn there defensive craft (Gibbs, Walker) where as, as previously mentioned by a poster he has a touch of nat fyfe about him.
Question is where should he learn his craft do we stick him on the hbf so he learns the game or do we stick him on the wing or hff to nurture an attacking flair, or alternatively stick him in the twos till he's ready to play full time....
Discus.

Shot put.;)

Plenty of good spoils and defensive movements today. Keep him there. Mostly because he was safer than most others we play there

This. Exact same as today for Port, try and find him a similar match-up and let him go at it. I think his career will be based around the transition from HB to HF, perhaps a little more forward, so thought he slotted in very very well. Love his hoof too, and that sweeping one-handed pick up was a shining light on an otherwise shitfully grey day.

was pretty good i nearly dropped my beer when i saw it.

hbf for now with stints on the half forward flank. He's really light and not very strong at this stage so keeping him out of the physical stuff around the center is the go for this stage. Reads things well at half back and has natural defensive instincts. Really like the way how he is able to "round up" an opponant. I don't think he will fall for many tricks and be balked around very often. Next year he might push for a midfield spot but that is more likely 3 years away. He's a good player, I also liked what I saw in Buckley and Dale earlier in the year too. Would be good to get a game or two into them as well before season's end.

I can't even begin to explain how exciting it is having a bloke who's best attributes are his general skills, poise and finesse.

Will be interesting to see how he copes against better teams but he already has sound defensive skills and the ability to peel off his opponent and collect uncontested ball.

Reminds me a bit of Fyfe tbh.

This kid will be a ripper.
His kicking has so much penetration.

That kick on the Southern Wing to spot up a teammate I reckon went 60m.

Yeh was a boomer, loved his work on Jack Watts,

he was in a pack .. thinking to myself he;s gonna snap in half, but tough as,

Shows heart and courage! Keep him in for the port game. Played well, goes hard, put brad green out of the game! Wish Lucas could go as hard as him!

Do you reckon the Melbourne lads will be getting into Green about getting hospitalised by a second gamer built like a pipe-cleaner wearing a Phil Spector wig?

I would if I were them. :thumbsu:

Got more of the Harpo Marx about it I reckon. Yes, probably says more about Brad Green and Melbourne in general.

Played in the backline as a junior so I think we keep him on the HBF for a year or 2. Could definatly see him moving to a wing or even through the middle when he puts some size on and gets his endurance up.

Im pretty sure after we recruited him that Hughes said that we drafted him because we thought he could become a midfielder.

Kid is going to be a ripper, he just has something about him :thumbsu:

Has a great penetrating kick but needs to learn to take something off the kicks from time to time, put a few on top of team mates heads. .. but that is nit picking. ..

Plenty to get excited about, give him another run versus Port and then assess whether to take him into a big game versus Geelong (I would) then he could get a trip back to Perth. .. 4 games under his belt and the bye would be a good time to rest and assess again. ..

Don't want to over do it too much but if he keeps up the skills and temperament they'll need to reward it. ..

He wa sgood today, not scared to have a crack, i'd like to see him on a wing

Demons supporters behind me were calling him cauliflower..lol

Bet they wish they had him. Go nicely with their team of spuds.
