What an incredibly shit ending. Almost undoes everything that preceded that moment (which was a really good end few missions as well compared to most of the game being fairly unstructured, they turned it into more of a linear experience, which was great). To build up the finale and getting into 'The Vault' so much for THAT ending, jeez. Poor form.:thumbsd:

Guess I'll continue on and level up to 50 eventually, but still I would've expected a far better ending than that.

wtf...you finished the game last night!?!?!?

i thought you were about where i was up to!?

how long did it take to complete the rest of the game? (i think i'm level 27 but havn't played for WAYYYYYYYYY too long)

Ah this game brings back memories. Too bad my main character got erased because I ragequitted during an autosave at that shitty Mad Moxxi DLC. Could always get a gamesave but can't be bothered.

get the knoxx DLC. there's some grunt work to be done in it. but it's got some great missions, great new weapons, really challenging bosses and it's ****ing hilarious as well

The only excuse I can think of, they're building up to a sequel. I went through most of the 2nd play-through expecting to meet him but never did.

hmm maybe i won't finish it then....

I know, I was playing with Kerrby and when he was finished I decided to do a few missions and then I'd turn it off.

I just did the first one I had checkpointed and it was basically on that one where the build up to the end was (still too me about 7+ missions and a couple of hours). You'll definitely notice the build up as it becomes a lot more linear than most missions in the game, plus it does have a nice actual feel of a build up too. Too bad the ending is so shit though.

I'm currently download the new DLC. To those who have played it, what do you think?

It should enable me to get to level 50 and that is all I need for the Plat, had not bothered as I couldn't be arsed playing through the game a second time. Hopefully it is better than that arena DLC which was basically impossible single player.

Assuming you're talking about the Secret Armory one, I downloaded it when it came out. I don't think the enemies are scaled to your level. They're all way above 50 and bloody hard to kill at the beginning. Me and my brother struggled with the first enemies and we were both level 50's with pretty decent weapons. Having said that, I thought it was an awesome DLC package. Heaps of new missions and weapons :thumbsu:

in playthrough 2 they're all scaled to level 50 and over

in playthrough 1 they're start at about level 30ish. but Crawmerax is always level 64

Thought I would jump back into this and finish 2nd playthrough and become level 50.
Something odd has happened though, I still have some fyrestone missions there that i have already completed. For example:
I was in New haven and decided to do the mission when you go back and check on T.K baha, so I head back and for some reason he's sitting outside in his chair, and wants me to go kill nine-toes (again).
But once i walk inside, there he is hanging up dead haha, so there's two of them:confused:
Anyway i did my mission but yeah, it's abit odd.
On another note, what is everyone's favourite/best gun??
I have this machinegun that i will post stats of later, but it owns :thumbsu:

*CR10 Combat Destroyer
Damage: 154
Accuracy: 96.4
Fire Rate: 10
Clip:12
-Destructor has come
- +67%accuracy
- +36% recoil reduction
- 2.3X weapon zoom
the red text means i can just click shoot once while zoomed in, and it will unload the whole clip :thumbsu:
and with my MOD, i actually have 27 bullets for each clip

the missions can get a little glitchy if you play online with people who are ahead of you.

Combustion Hellfires are the best guns in the game imo. they're ridiculously overpowered

damage: 101
Accuracy: 87.5
Fire rate: 9.2

clip: 28

x4 ingition

- highly effective against flesh
- chance to light enemies on fire
we don't need no water
2.4 zoom

It's a level 32 weapon and I still use it at level 61 (it's still very effective as well)

I feel I have my perfect set-up of weapons currently. I have 6 weapons that I cycle through mainly depending on the enemy and how many of them there are (one of them though is just testing to see if it's better than the other).

I'm a level 38 currently and just finished every mission in Playthrough 1 tonight.

*SES Munitions* PPZ7 Liquid Sniper
Damage: 357
Accuracy: 97.8
Fire Rate: 2.7
Clip Size: 9>21 through mod
+4 Magazine Size
+48% Fire Rate
+180% Critical Hit Damage
1.0x Weapon Zoom
Price: $16,462
Level Req. 28

Epic Sniper and as you can see by the critical hit damage it's basically a 1 or 2 shot kill when you get the critical hit. Very good for taking out enemies from far away and it fires fast for a sniper too so you can get a few shots out quickly.

*DAHL* AX10 Swift Anaconda
Damage: 620
Accuracy: 94.4
Fire Rate: 1.9
Clip Size: 2>4 through mod
Long and Strong
+6% Recoil Reduction
+33% Fire Rate
Price: $32,613
Level Req. 32

Epic Pistol, despite a small clip it does massive damage and again much like the sniper is basically a 1 or 2 hit kill from critical hits (from high levelled enemies, 1 hit kill for anyone lower than level 30).

Now we come into my tester weapons. 2 combat rifles that I can't really pick apart.

*DAHL* AR Deathly Stomper
Damage: 144
Accuracy: 87
Fire Rate: 15
Clip
Size: 12>29
+43% Recoil Reduction
+83% Damage
1.4x Weapon Zoom
Price: $5,898
Level Req. 21

*VLADOF* AR20/V2 Glorious Havoc
Damage: 137
Accuracy: 79.7
Fire Rate: 11.8
Clip
Size: 36>87
+12 Magazine Size
+50% Fire Rate
+52% Recoil Reduction
Price: $17,116
Level Req. 28

It's amazing how little of a difference the price makes, but I rate the Stomper to be better and I think at a glance everyone else pretty much would too which is strange considering the $10,000+ price differential. The only issue is that the Stomper has a 3 shot burst, while the Havoc is just a constant fire. It puts a little of a downer on the Stomper but it seems to weigh out fairly well. Really don't know which one to go for here at the moment I am using the Stomper and doing well but don't know what I'll end up going for.

And these other 2 are my special guns for specific moments.

*TORGUE* BOOM STICK
Damage: 434
Accuracy: 0.0
Fire Rate: 3.4
Clip Size: 6>14
Beyond Groovy
+634% Damage
+600% Burst Fire Count
+78% Fire Rate
2.2x Weapon Zoom
Price: $11,969
Level Req. 28

*Eridian* 10011 Cannon
Damage: 886
Accuracy: 91.7
Fire Rate: 0.4
Clip Size: Infinite
010011110100110101000111
Price: $6,009
Level Req. 28

Usually the Eridian's are terrible weapons, but this one's damage far outweighs it's cons with poor fire rate and slow actual rate of the bullet firing out of the weapon. Is good for a quick kill of some enemies as long as they're NOT MOVING! The Boom Stick if fairly epic too if used fairly well, it's a shotgun too, but fires rocket bullets, you really have to aim it at the feet of your enemies to do the most damage but is great for clearing out a bunch of enemies in a pack.

So those are my weapons, will also show off my Shield which I'm quite happy with.:)

*Tediore* TDR-AWE Quick Charge Healing Shield
Capacity: 431
Recharge Rate: 108
Very Slow Heath Regeneration
Price: $8,233
Level Req. 31

I have 2 other shields with one that is nearly 100 more on capacity, but I can't go past a health regen shield. The recharge rate is insane too (never seen anything close to that speed before), basically negates the fact that it's not the highest capacity out there.

So yeah, that's what I have up altogether so far and I'm happy with how I'm going.:)

Epic post lol
Regarding shields, I stick with 2:

Cap: 958
recharge: 156 (or something like that)
-Overcharge

Cap: 251
Recharge: 110 (or something like that)
-Very quick health regeneration

So yeah, stick with the 958 till i take health damage then i switch them, and back and forth... etc.

as long as it has more scooter I'm getting it
Haha.. his vehicles saved me countless hours or travelling (Lancer FTW), except when they blew up, killed me then respawned me 10 minutes away from where I died  The new DLC increases the level cap to 68 or 69 too :thumbsu:

Are most people here going to get the new DLC coming out at the end of this month? Something to do with evil Claptraps (they're the new enemies). Gonna wait for more solid info before I decide but it's pretty tempting :thumbsu:

EDIT: It's called "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution." Here's a link to more info http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/11/borderlands-dlc-claptraps-new-robot-revolution-due-in-septemb/
It does sound good for sure. They've got bigger area's and the focus will be more on walking around exploring than vehicular travel. Might have to look at getting it.

It's technically not the DLC that increases the cap. It's a free patch that will increase the overall cap by 8 regardless of whether you have DLC or not. So if you had the Knoxx DLC it goes up to 69 (get it 69!?!:cool:)

Yeah it will definitely be worth a look, especially if there's more weapons too. Ahh yeah, that free patch. I read about it a while ago and forgot. I thought it was to increase the level cap to 69 (;) :p) regardless of whether or not you had the Knoxx DLC though. Probably read it wrong :p

Thought the same until reading IGN's preview of the upcoming DLC.

But before getting into what'll be included with the Revolution add-on, Gearbox also mentioned there'll be a significant free patch issued to all Borderlands owners sometime in late September or early October. The patch will bump up the level cap for all players, raising it by eight. That means if you've so far only purchased the base version of Borderlands, you'll be able to progress to level 58. The entire original game world of Borderlands is also having its levels adjusted so you can run through again and shoot at higher level enemies, as well as the Crawmerax encounter in General Knoxx, giving you the ability to play through again and make additional progress.

If you're a Borderlands fan who purchased the General Knoxx content and already received a level cap increase of 11, then you'll still be able to progress another eight levels when the patch is released. That means 50 + 11 + 8 = 69. Gearbox is having a laugh at anyone striving toward that number.
