if your a punk to them you deserve a smacking up. i've only ever had good expirences with bouncers yeah some can be tossers and just do the job so they can beat up on patrons. but the vast majority are good blokes and are always up for a chat.

You get ********s in all occupations, security is no exception.

Even for the good guys it cannot be an easy job dealing with drunk ****wits, they are bound to snap at some point

exactly mate. ****wits come in all shapes and sizes and in every industry under the sun the only diffrence is security have the legal right to solve issuses physically.

Never had any bad experiences really. A few have been *****, but you're bound to catch some having a bad night.

I've got a mate who works as a bouncer, there are always some interesting stories, especially about the old school bouncers who've been in the business for decades. They really don't take shit.

Tell me about it. One of my cousins is a bouncer at Crown. Told me last week him and four other bouncers had to chase this guy all the way through Crown, down King St, and ended up catching him at a strip joint he tried hiding out at (just ran in), pretty funny.

Some are absolute rogue bastards who deserve death...some are just doing a shitty job to the best of their ability without going over the top.

I respect some, but most are failed @ life scumbags

Yeah, the job does attract guys who have way more muscles than brain cells and that always spells trouble in conflict resolution situations.

A few friends from school went on to become bouncers, they handle the job ok and have told me a few stories. A family friend works security at Melbourne Airport and he also has a few amusing stories, especially of people with "little man syndrome".

I've been told that i should get into bouncing myself as i have the build for it. However i don't think i could mentally cope with the job itself.

What are bouncers doing chasing a guy after he's left the premises? Their 'job' is to look after a business not be the police. Once someone's left that's it. No wonder so many think so many bouncers are mentally challenged nuts looking for an excuse to brawl.

I'm sure there are good ones, but anyone trying to say there aren't more ********s per 100 bouncers then there are ********s per 100 in almost any other job out there is trying to push shit up hill.

Suffer from the problem of mistaking getting personal and acting professionally. In Perth there have been quite a few cases where bouncers have been beaten up because of their approach to dealing with patrons. The first question than comes to mind when I see a bouncer being attacked on his job is ''What did the bouncer do to inflame the offenders?'"

Too true.:thumbsu:

Bouncers are doing their job, if there's one thing i've learned as a patron is just walk away, if they say you can't go in or you have to leave, there's no point arguing, just go, they are never going to change their mind and they've probably been getting shit all night. No need to get into them, you're asking for trouble if do that.

Most of them are ****wits and deserve whatever they get. Bouncers in Melbourne are shocking and are just looking for fights. Strangely never had any problems with bouncers on the Gold Coast, probably some of the nicest blokes I've met.

This. Drunken ******s who stand there abusing a bouncer for not letting scum like them into a place, and then cry like a little bitch when they rightfully cop it annoy me more than w***er bouncers.

The thing that shits me about them is that most of them think they are ****en gods. Your just a big body, thats it, hate how most of them always go on some power trip

One of the worst type's of human there is.
I know some awesome ones, Usually the guys who are over 30 are settled down and dont have that chip on the shoulder, more relaxed and have had experiance and not the agro when dealing with drunken w***ers

Put someone whos 21, in love with the gym, 6'+ and 100 kilos and sees the oppotunity to act like a god to someone who's drunk and pissed off is always going to end badly, Not that all of them do, but the bouncer will take the oppotunity to bully the guy whos already gone

Two examples, i know 3 guys who are bouncers, ones 6'3" and about 125 kilos, not built but just a solid boy, he's probably the best bouncer i would know, he's naturally not aggressive, however ive seen him stand his ground when 3 guys exactly his size did not like him asking them to leave (they were upturning tables and being shits) but after that he never gets into fights, hes got that knack of calming drunk guys down, acting on their side and explaining it so the guys will either understand and leave, if they yell at him he's thick skinned enough to go "whatever, just leave" or if they take a physical approach he wont attack first, but he can handle himself

Second guy, 6'4", 95 kilos, fancies himself as a street fighter, nice guy sometimes but short temper, every weekend when he was working he would brag he got into 5-6 fights, Did not have the people skills to handle it and would probably egg drunks on to fight with him to prove a point to others around him not to **** with him

It'd be nice to find some bouncers who just did their job, with no attitude and no over the top aggression.

A lot of bottom-rung street level dealers are bouncers. A lot of roided out people looking for fights are bouncers. A lot of bouncers are associated with bikie gangs etc.

You shouldn't need to feel cautious of the 'security' at a venue you are paying to be at.

It's also very frustrating to receive fashion advice from some 33 y.o bald bikie with a goatie wearing pleated polyester slacks and square-toe windsor-smiths.

Conservatively, the world would be a better place without 85% of bouncers.

On the other hand, a lot of security wouldn't move a muscle if you were getting the shit beaten out of you. Some are too scared, some are too busy posing for photos with 19 y.o slurries.

Interestingly, have found the best bouncers to be the maoris/islanders who have generally a pretty bad reputation.

I've worked in a few venues in my time and the security guards we had have all, for the most part, been absolute legends. Usually Fijian or Samoan migrants who work 2 jobs to support the family. Salt of the earth. When people just generalize and say that all bouncers are ***** it pisses me off to no end.

I used to work with a guy who was a bouncer on the weekends and he was of the opinion that if you couldn't talk your way out of a confrontation or have the ability to subdue a person within 5 seconds, you had no business being a bouncer.

Having said that though, he was about 6 foot 5, built like a mallee bull and was a semi-professional cage fighter. Taught me some nice moves to get out of sticky situations. Favourite one - the double open handed slap to the ears. Throws off a persons equilibrium enabling you to scarper.
