Was smart by Joel but we never should've been in that position. They had 3 men down for the better half of the game kicking 6 goals to 1 against us in the third and we only just fell over the line. Very embarrassing win IMO.

Yeah I'm still fuming we won that as well. I would've much preferred he kick to one of his 21 stagnant teammates which would quite possibly have resulted in Essendon winning the match.

you do what you need to to win a game of footy Hardly champagne football and not necessarily my preferred way of winning a match, but we got the chocolates after playing diabolically bad for large parts of the match.

lmao @ ABC grandstand got a few snippets of talkback and it was all Tiger fans blasting the biased nature of the commentary leaning towards essendon (didn't listen to the call, watched at the pub). Morphett then proceeds to bring up the 3 point rushed behinds in the pre-season comp and says "essendon would have won" - his mates were going on about how 'we could talk about this all night'.

Tactics are becoming more and more important in todays game. Bowdens antics will be thrashed around the media for the next few days... . Dont blame Bowden, Essendon should have made it more tempting for Bowden to kick it into play ie.. concede the first kick, instead they manned up and locked the ball in the forward line and left Bowden with little option.
They should have made more tempting to bowden to bring the ball back into play.... They should also teach it's players how to kick for goal.

It feels good to win when we played poorly, that never used to happen. Did anyone feel like the bombers played like us from the past? It almost felt like we handed them the batten that lets you "donimate a game and loose Batten".
