There's only one!
What we saw from Bower last year was really promising stuff wasn't it?:thumbsu::) And could you imagine the year he might have had if he didn't injure his shoulder?:(
From what I saw from him last year when performing both as a 3rd tall/attacking flanker was a nice thing to see. But what was even more impressive was when he was taking on the likes of Travis Cloke (one of the real reasons why we beat Collingwood for the second time last year) and Buddy Franklin, big power forwards, were some real reasons to smile about the potential this guy has.:)
I believe he can fill the CHB role for us and be a star, starting from this year onwards. Otherwise if you disagree and would like him playing as a 3rd tall, where he can use his run a little bit more, I will relent very slightly and say from next year onwards, as he may or may not be still a little bit undersized to take on big power forwards week in, week out this year.
And of course, having Bower at CHB means you can release Waite to anywhere from other roles in defence, or the midfield or forward line.
One of the things I will watch with interest on against North in 8 days time will be which role he plays.
Discuss.

I think he can still run out of defense playing at CHB, although that will be more difficult. Not sure about him at CHB at this stage, maybe the third tall in defense, using his run and carry, a creative defender. But you are right we have the building blocks of a good solid defense and he is part of the wall back there.

got him in my DT this year.Reckon he's set for a big one!
Depends on which role he plays. Plenty of time left before we can finalise our squads but he's not yet in mine. If he plays as a 3rd tall then he's sure to score highly.:thumbsu:

He's got that run and carry about him and you could even say it's exciting to watch.:)
But I feel we have others who could play that role like Waite and Thornton (the latter might play a role on small forwards), as well as perhaps midfielders like Scotland, Grigg or Robinson who could play sweeping roles off half-back. Not to mention the fact that Bower looks like he might have a touch more talent and consistency to eventually take over a key position in defence, and that Waite can play a more attacking role himself.
I feel he will be there sooner or later, one way or another.:thumbsu:

Well we have some really good young kids. And to be truthful I am excited about this season more than any other. Finally the gloom is lifting and I can see Blue sky's ahead. I am impressed by how mature our kids are, all a very good sign for the future.

He'll definitely need to bulk up to take the big forwards regularly, but that will happen naturally over the next couple of years anyway.

Bower has already come a long way from the startled emu he was in his first few games. I'm excited about him as a long-term fixture in our backline.

Isnt it great to be able to write that  5 years ago we couldnt say that and our future looked bleak, how time changes things, and now having good people running the club. Our future is very bright.

struggling to find the rumour in all this...

anyhow Bower is vitally important to our back line structure.

The thing that i like about our backline is that all of the KPB are able to play either on either talls or shorter players.

Thornton - J Brown - Didak
Jamison - Bradshaw - Medurst
Bower - Cloke - S Johnson
Waite (who will play CHF this year which im not happy about) - Rocca - Riewoldt - B Johnson

We don't have a CHF at the moment anyway. Waite plays in the position, but he's usually loose of his man. Waite is our rebounder - his one on one isn't so fantastic.

Bower definitely can fill CHB. He is athletic and has very good one on one defensive capabilities. I expect him to shine this year. His run and carry can still be utilised from that position.

I think Cloke would be a good CHF for us. He is a good kick at goal, crashes the packs, and is not afraid to throw his body in harms way. With Cloke at CHF, it would give us more options. We could rotate Waite, Kruze & a resting ruckman through the CHF position.

I too like Cloke as the CHF, with Waite down back as a loose CHB, but he can play tight when required. At the moment I'd prefer Bower as an attacking loose defender. He needs to bulk up a bit to take on the gorillas like Pav and J. Brown.

He was recruited as a CHB to play as a CHB. He's now ready for that role and is a very good and skilled player.

He did some good jobs on Franklin, Bradshaw and Cloke and I reocn will consistantly take these players. I have him for supercoach too :). He will free Waite up to play on the flank or forward/midfield.

He's a big win for the blues recruiting department.

Agreed. Waite is probably the most attacking option for CHB. His run and evasion throws opposition into panic. Even better is to let him float without an opponent. Thornton does OK when in that role too.

Jamison - FB
Bower - CHB
Austin/O'hAilpin - BP
Waite - loose defender/forward pocket.

I have a similar but slightly different take. I see ohAilpin as a picked for a job role on the big bodied ff's like Hall that rely on body strength to win the ball and the rest of the time out of the team because big bodied players like Pav would be far too footy smart for him, (this of course is if he can overcome his recent mind explosion, put it this way, this is what I thought before last week), Jameson as the regular FB and BP when Irish is in the team, and occasionally Waite as a run with role on key forwards such as Riewaldt and Richo but for most of the time I like him on a wing and Cloke or Harts at CHF (if Harts can finally get it going) with Kruze rotating through there.

Waite is athletic, strong run and carry, fairly good disposal, capable forward and back, good strong grab and very dangerous and must draw respect or he will tear the opposition a new one.

I loved Waite at CHB but to have him as a forward option is very scary for opposition... and a great card to have up a sleeve!

Initially with Bower we saw the hair and tatts
Then we saw the skill!
You should have known that a good WA lad delivers ( a few excused lately)
The Bowerbandwagon is on a roll
Comes from a great famliy and supported by all the wablues
This kid is golden
But to the OP
It depends on our opponent and the match-up that presents on where we deploy people the likes of Jamo Grigg Bowerbandwagon Waite etc
We want versatile players that can play many roles. Do not try to pidgeon hole the like of the Bowerbandwagon!

i would really like to see bower have a run in the midfield because bower reminds me of kouta and if he turns out to be a freak like kouta :D

Its starting to get crowded in the middle, Judd, Gibbs, Stevens, Murphy, some would argue Tex is capable, Carrots, Betts, Simmo and talk of Yarran in future and Robbo has put his hand up and now Bower. I am not dissing the idea but there is some serious competition for spots now. :thumbsu:

My personal preferance is to have Waite play in the back line, with occassional stints up forward if need be. It's just where I feel he will play his best footy (in the back half) but it's still no doubt a good card to have up our sleeve to throw him up in the forward line, he could very well be a swingman like Adam Hunter from West Coast. Loves to kick a goal as well does Jarrad.:)

I think I will have to agree with the post below yours, I reckon we have enough mids.:thumbsu::o
All in all, this thread has worked out extremely well for me, as the responses here appear quite similar to what I have stated in my OP.;)

Bower in the midfield might struggle with the pace and heat you are put under. Sometimes his decision making and disposal is not the best but as he gets more games under his belt this should improve
