Dimma, Rod Stewart and Tay-ah Miles , in a three way tie for leading club goal kicker with 16 a piece.

If that isn't an accurate reflection on what a crap year they had then I don't know what else could possibly be.

Hardwick actually got votes this year.

Apart from the Cats and the odd cameo (one in the last or second last game) he was pretty much invisible.

The number of players who played in the senior team [48] and development team [46] is certainly large. The depth in the development side is highlighted and shows Stuart Horner, Brayden Kilpatrick and Lachlan Williams were really unlucky to miss selection in the GF side which won by over 100 points.

Thanks for posting houdinihuddo. Really highlights what an ordinary season Jermaine Miller-Lewis had in both grades, but also how everybody's favourite Mitch O'Donnell received 15 votes in two(?) games played in the DS.

After missing a year with an ACL Bull played rounds 18 & 19 with the development team, played rounds 20 & 21 with the senior team and then the two development team finals. He is a ripper.

Thanks for that hh. It was always likely that forwards in the Development squad would poll better than backs. I was specifically interested in Glass (17) and Surman (13). I know Glass spent most of his time down back and didn't see a lot of the footy. but I hope he gets his share of games in the seniors next season.
I have a feeling Surman will come on over the next two seasons. He is still only young and has only played footy for a few years, so I hope he can spend all next year in the firsts.

I really enjoy watching our young players in the development team. I can recall a young boy playing from memory three games and showing something resulting in an early promotion. He played his first senior game against Collingwood at Victoria Park and kicked three goals and you could see he had the ability to play well at a higher level. Luke Bruest. Both Conor and Luke have shown something to suggest there is the prospect of positive development. Conor has showed an ability to play a role with the occasional dash, clean hands and good decision making and disposal. He needs to play a lot more Aussie Rules to learn structures but his ability to keep his feet, pace and skills make him an exciting prospect. Luke has very good hands and is strong in a contest. He has played as a key forward and relief ruckman and has been good when the ball has come to him. What he does is good but he needs to work on doing more. I don't Know if it's a matter of improving his endurance, agility and/or reading the play better. I see Luke as a good key defender prospect for the future. Both boys are very good characters and with a good pre season I'm confident they will progress significantly in 2017.
