Toast Brad Crouch... How much have we missed him?

I just can't see how anyone can be so critical of a guy playing his first match in 18 months......You can't just waltz back in and be up to speed. And you can't get that game speed back up in the SANFL. And last night's game was at a ridiculous intensity. far more intense than any other game of the weekend so far

It takes a small amount of time. He's good, but he aint GAJ (who is a freak!)

Brad Crouch looks terrible at the moment. Needs to build fitness in the reserves.

Frustration should be aimed at the coaches for poor selection policy.

Crouchy is still a gun. He's understandably rusty. He got into lots of good spots but just wasn't clean and he fumbled.

He won't achieve much playing SANFL level either. Getting 40+ touches vs. Westies yesterday would have meant nothing. He needs to build at AFL level and get used to the speed again. He'll come good.

He needs to build match fitness in the AFL where he belongs. He looked behind the pace last night, and he isn't going to adjust to that pace by playing in the SANFL.

The injury from the internal trial proved costly last night. No NAB cup means he simply couldn't adjust to the pace of the game. The only way he can re-adjust to AFL level is to play there though so hopefully hes back to his best soon.

Maybe don't banish him immediately but we sure don't have a lot of time to wait for him to come good.

I don't think it's really a question of being unfit. It looked to me at least to be the pace of the game. It was intense even by AFL standards. He had 20 touches and laid 9 tackles. He didn't seem to have any trouble getting to contests, he just took too long with the ball when he had it, which I think is only going to be fixed by playing in the senior side. He had 40 touches against South two weeks ago, so I just don't really see how the reserves will help him.

To be honest everybody looked buggered last night. If I'm going to accuse Crouch of being unfit, I would need to say that of the whole team.

I realise he's going to need more time but he also needs to improve quickly. There is a difference between a player being a little rusty and being a complete liability.

first game since 2014 and the game was probably quicker than most games that he will play in this year

Conditioning not an issue, AFL match fitness what Brad needs and he can only get this by playing AFL games

Brad will dominate SANFL, we need to keep playing him at AFL level

Agree with this....definitely don't want to drop him. We have some bloody tough games coming up so he will have to turn it around quickly. Every game he plays though will get him cherry ripe....just need to hope it is sooner rather than later.

Exactly. Last night would have done him a lot more good than getting 40+ in a demolition of West Adelaide.

Hopefully he pulls up fine, 7 day break should do him the world of good. He will get better, and better quickly.

Good: Brad got absolutely smashed a few times last night. Most notably was when he had his legs taken out from underneath him by another player (and got a free). Another time he had a player fall on his legs. The fact that he got through unscathed is great.

Some people here are simply not very smart. Heck, there were people saying just last year to trade Jenkins and Lynch.

Player out for 18 months, looks a little rusty. DROP, DELIST. Classic Crows board.

Pointless trying to trade him after yesterday he would have zero trade value. Isn't that how we roll.

The Crouch brothers are guns..We have been crying out for these type of aggressive players for near on 20 years.

There's alot in the AFC fraternity who really don't understand the game of Aussie rules.

Agreed. Sure we had raised our expectations but reality is that he just isn't match fit. But Brad is a player that we must persevere with and he must stay in the team. I would say we give him 4 or 5 weeks before we going knee jerking around. There is no need to call for his head.

So, the people saying we carry him to get him match fit...how many games do we play one short while we get him to come good?
Last night we were about 4 short. He did more than a lot of his mates

He was always going to be average having been out of the game so long.

It puts into perspective the real cost of his decision to go out on the grog and miss that NAB3 game.
Hopefully he's quite embarrassed about how slow and off the pace he looked. Could be a turning point for him - his last drink for the season and time to be ultra professional in all aspects.
