29 disposals, 6 marks, 7 clearances, 3 tackles and a goal in the SANFL Prelim today.

Has been getting better and better as the season has gone on and is AFL ready.

What are people's opinion as to where he would have gone in this year's draft?

yeah he was a very good player when he played here in ballarat for north ballarat rebals

He is a beast for his age, is physically way ahead off kids in this years draft, hard too imagine anyone in this years draft crop playing as well at that level like he did today.

He would be top 5 I think, although it is hard to rate his development this year with other draftees considering he trains full time with Adelaide and is very physically developed.

He would probably be behind Jaeger O'Meara, Lachie Whitfield, Joe Daniher and Brodie Grundy I think.

Would have him in front of Whitfield and Grundy personally, he is a competitive boy who would stand up in games like yesterday. But everyone has a different opinion.

I have seen Toumpas, Grundy, Mayes, Kennedy, Gibbs, Trengrove, Aish and Menzel play, and none of them have had the effect on a game at SANFL level like Crouch did today, and O'Meara and Whitfield have never played a game at that level in their lives. I would put Crouch in the top 2 in this draft. I would take Crouch over Whitfield any day of the week.

Even Kennedy's 4 goal, 20-odd touch game last year?

Gibbs had better games.Had 35 touches and 6 goals in one game.

Still, great to see Crouch doing so well, Adelaide are already an excellent contested ball winning team and they've got themselves a beauty here.

Probably doesn't have the ceiling of Whitfield, Omeara etc but would say he's pretty likely too be at the least a very good player.

Brad Crouch is built like a brick shithouse from that photo I saw in the sun, he looks bigger than most AFL midfielders so it would be quite unfair to make comparisons with kids that have not had similar development/facilities.

Didnt Trengove get 40 touches in his league debut? And someone mentioned Kennedy's 4 goal, 26 possession game last year.

Crouch is a gun and will be a gun afl player. You guys have every right to be excited but keep a lid on it haha

He was that big when he got to the club!!

I saw that game live at the Bay Oval, he was in beast mode that day. Already had around 30 touches or something and a couple of goals before the last quarter, then kicked 4 or around that in the last, ridiculous for a 17 year old!!

He doesnt have the silky skills of Omeara or the workrate of Whitfield, but he is a harder more physical contested possesion player. Who would you prefer, Gibbs or Joel Selwood?

Hit his peak at 17. In 5 years time im gonna be pretty confident that we will prefer Crouch than Gibbs.

Hey guys, just went over some SANFL pages and calculated Crouch's 2012 SANFL stats. I really should be doing Uni study, but Crouch is far more important right now.

From my reckoning he played 16 games for Westies, although it's possible I missed 1-2 due to the SANFL not always listing stats for every game. Obviously he missed quite a few with that Hamstring problem in the middle of the season as well.

Games: 16

All stats below are averages per game

Kicks: 10.5 ::::: Kicking Efficiency: 69.5%
Handballs: 9.3 ::::: Handball Efficiency: 83.9%
Disposals: 19.8 ::::: Disposal Efficiency: 76.3%

Marks: 3.3
Tackles: 2.6
Clearances: 4.6
Inside 50s: 3.0
Rebound 50s: 1.4

And he's scored 1.10 all year. Accuracy on goal hasn't been great but we all know what happened with Lews Jetta.

Hopefully the yips will be gone by next year. Only took Jetta a year to get over it like you said.

I've seen nearly all Brad's games this year. I don't know where he would sit in this year's draft, but I'd be amazed if he wasn't in the top 2.

He's improving with every game and is a quality player and person.

O'Meara/Crouch are definatly the two best players who are not playing in the AFL right now.
