^^^^Nothing to do with skin colour!

He's a lazy football and only works one way!

Wasn't it you talking up Newton last year in nearly every single draft related post?

Yeah. Newton has some fine attributes and he could have gone higher had he had a full season in 2010.

Nelson is a different player, probably not as clinical but a great repeat efforts indervidual and probably more ready for AFL with his superior endurance and pack work and i rated him higher than Newton 12 months ago. I only put his name out there as a comparison. I'll admit 28 is probably short of value given the risk inherit in the draft.

My issue with Surjan is not his ability, it's out total lack of need for him. Especially given the ages of some of our defenders.

People that are against Motlop as a throwin is it because of his age?

He is still a damn good player and I would take Motlop over Ebert anyday if I was contending for a premiership (rather than rebuilding).

We're still a ways off a premiership, need someone who'll be around for a few years at least.

Regardless or not if it's considered fair...

Is there any combination of picks that could be traded to provide WC with slightly more than pick 29?

We will only use 23, 29 (if we get it) and maybe 45. Seems like options are thin. What is Port's priority pick?

Surprised he's leaving. Homesick or worried about playing WAFL next year?

I wanted to trade him but not this way, I wanted the Eagles to do the talking at trade week, but now it's kind of hard that he opened his mouth, Our leverage is gone so we will get screwed in this. Not expecting much now, lucky for a second round draft pick.

Ebert-is a dud spud, I can say it without feeling guilty now- that's all we get from this, his a clanger king, lazy, list clogger:)

happy now, feel good.

Haw - Gunston
Crows - Ebert
WCE - Pick 24

How does that sit with WCE?

Trouble is that Ebert wants to come to Port

O.k Port people.
Players I'd like to see in the Blue and Gold

Daniel Pearce
Ben Jacobs
Jasper Pittard

And Robbie Gray (Dreaming)

Now that Ebert has declared his intentions, what trades/deal would you expect for the players mentioned above??

None of those guys will leave Port this year, I hope

Guys like Kane Cornes (I wish), Davenport, Hitchcock, Motlop, Pettigrew & Surjan would be on the table.

Surjan would be your best bet.

I assume that he is out of contract, given the comments earlier about putting off contract negotiations mid-season.

This being the case, is PSD a genuine option for Port?

Most definitely an option, in fact now that Ebert has named Port this could work out well for Richmond as well if Port force Ebert to the PSD leaving Richmond with the option of making Maric walk into the PSD also. :D

Thank you Ebert. :thumbsu:

Sorry mate - didn't realize he had nominated a club. Only read he wanted to return to Adelaide.

No problems

It seems that when a players decides to leave a club these days he nominates his preferred destination.

Jacobs & Tambling did last year just as examples, Gunston, Armstrong and now Brad Ebert are doing the same.

The balance of power seems to be leaning over to the players instead of the clubs.

Good or bad, I'm not sure. It will be interesting though.

Or Weedon or Broome

But **** we just delisted JON so WCE must be racist

I know you didn't bring it up, but lets leave race issues out of Drafts & trading hey?

I would hope so

I really want Port to retain our picks, or upgrade them.

Lecturing WC posters when it was one of your own who brought it up, from nowhere as a cheap shot?

Its the off season so I know the morons are out in force, but clubs have to deal with each other on a regular basis.

Rarely will a player or club stooge another into going in the PSD. It usually requires a bit of bad blood or obstinate parties on both sides.

So as much as posters love the idea of cheating a rival and picking up a freeby this just is not haw clubs, especially WC operate.

We trade rarely, but when we do are usually more than reasonable and try to accommodate the player in question.

From all reports, Brad has a solid character and WC have done the right thing by him. I doubt he, his management or Port will try to screw WC in regards to a trade.

Huge chance of this happening
Based on what exactly?

The fact you hope it will happen?

This has now become a moronic and standard BF response.

"Wants to come to our club, x club will take chump change or we will get him in PSD". "Pretty much guaranteed from what I here/from the word on the street/around the club/around the traps/sources etc."

I don't think it will happen but it certainly can.

We did it to Josh Carr though to be fair, he was only worth a PSD pick then.

Port released a statement saying they'll look to trade with West Coast so rest easy I guess.

Firstly that was in the Choco Williams years. Was a ridiculously bad bloke and fits well with Sheeds and Allen.

Second, I don't doubt they will. Unless they are going for a salt the earth strategy where they want to sour any future trade relations with WC and make other clubs loathe to deal with them.
