Silky Skills, fantastic penetrating kick but just a receiver and i believe that the game is too fast for him to play in the midfield, would all you Melbourne fans agree ??? I would like to see him play where he started playing in his career, in the forward line.. He would make a massive impact up there

His game today was very very poor until it was over - I agree he is too slow for the midfield but I also think he must be willing to put his body on the line....something he rarely did today

Isn't a midfielder, never will be. Too unaccountable to play defence, so i think he should play as a leading forward. Seriously needs to spend a preseason with the Storm I think to teach how to get near his opponent and put some pressure on. God opponents must laugh with the prospect of being pressured by Green.

Brad green typifies the melbourne football club. Looks great when things are good and goes to water when things are bad. Ohh forgot to mentION just like MFC: SOFT!!!

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it kick a snap over it's head in the pocket on his wrong foot. I think that's the right analogy.

Green would be a better forward than Yze any day of the week, get him in there and leave him there. No point in trying to use him ineffectively in the middle or in the backline picking up the cheapies

Put him at FF. Can Mark and Kick - he aint a midfielder.

Keep Neitz out of his way, lets see how he goes.

Dump Yze and promote a Valenti or Wonnammerri.

Valenti needs to come into the side thats for sure - I think we should persit with Buckley though - not a great game today by him but did anyone have a great game that wasn't wearing brown and yellow?

Well we are stuck in regards to Valenti at the moment. If Green goes to FF, Robertson needs to be dropped. They'd both play the same roll of an undersized full forward and we already have Newton and Neitz down there.

How about trying Green across half forward in a Matthew Bate like roll? His penetrating kick could be very damaging and his slowness can be minimized by his good positioning.

That is one of the most constructive and intelligent posts of late.

I have no problem with Robertson being dropped. Clear out the forward line, give Green some space to be a lead up forward, keep Neitz within 20metres from goal... BAN HIM FROM LEADING!

The thing with Green is that he has good skills, but not when he is under pressure. He is definately much better in his natural position as a forward, but until we find a couple of midfielders who can use the ball, we have to persist with him there.

Neitz on the lead is the only way he gets marks though. He can't physically intimidate players in 1 on 1 marking contests anymore but he is still relatively quick on the lead and knows where to lead. As long as it's only him and Green leading it's okay.

Green is definitely not a midefielder. You can tell he played soccer all his life, his shows no accountably for his opponent like in soccer you have your defenders covering for you and he runs into the worst postions he watches the ball to much he spends more time wathcin the footy going over his head than any other player ive seen.

Playing forward would remove these two flaws from his game. a) the backmen would man him up b) he will lead directly at the ball and spend less time kick chasing.

green played a nothing game really, didnt play on anyone, didnt rack up the touches, was soft, looked unfit and didnt run hard enough into defence

oh and bruce wasnt much better

Bruce and Green had 18 and 23 possessions each (41 combined), but most worrying is the fact that only 12 of those 41 were kicks. The rest were handballs! We need Bruce and Green to be the blokes who are hitting up Neitz and Robertson on the chest, not piss farting around with handballs.

I agree with everyone who wants to see Green as a permanent forward. He is good on the lead and he's tough to match up on. Problem is none of us are on the match committee!! But I think it's a good move, especially with Moloney back to full fitness.

I can't remember once seeing him fighting for the ball or winning it in a 1 on 1 contest.

Maybe full forward will be better suited to him as he can lead out from the square in front of his man confident he will not have to engage in any physical contact with his opponent.

Don't get me wrong I like green but I guess thats the type of player he is, waiting on the outside.

I've been saying play green out of the forward line for too long now. He has a beautiful set shot at goal, and can put on a good lead.

Agree on that bit if Yze hasn't lifted his game within the next month. Hell, just dump Warnock and promote Valenti and be done with it.

Yeah Green could parrallel what the dogs have done with Brad Johnson. I am not convinced with Maloney though he doesn't use his head, nearly always over kicks the ball and is a bit one dimensional.
