Gets to 200 Games by 27 years old. Will surely reach the 300 club by the time he retires.
Getting him at pick 30 in the draft was an absolute steal. That 2014 Draft/Trade period was unbelievable.
You'd think so - he is a 20+ game a year player. What a pick!

Bruzzy leaps in the air to try to spoil (using flat hands), - concussion - result has him being booed, hated on etc
Darcy leaps in the air to spoil (via punch) - cracked ribs / punctured lung - and it’s a football action.

I think both were great pieces of play/ natural football actions but gee there’s a lot of difference in the response
I understand about head impact and the horrid consequences but it seems murky to me what we want in our game.
What if Darcy’s knee had caught him in the back of the head resulting in him not playing again.
Melbourne supporters have embarrassed themselves endlessly with the way they talk about Maynard “ending Brayshaw’s career” as if Brayshaw didn’t have 5 or 6 concussions previously before this unfortunate collision took place.

Another player who suffered 5 or 6 or so concussions with the last one ending his career is Nathan Murphy. I don’t recall seeing a Pies fan crying foul about Lincoln McCarthy or whoever it was who accidentally cleaned him up in a contest. I’m not even certain it was McCarthy, such has been the lack of blame and show of understanding by our supporters.

What happened to Brayshaw stinks, but equally as stinky is Brayden copping the blame for years of unrelated head knocks.

As previously mentioned, Caroline Wilson is TOTALLY out of order by STILL referring to the Maynard - Brayshaw incident as "Maynard's hit on Brayshaw".

In my opinion, the club and Brayden would be entitled to remind her that Brayden was totally exonerated on appeal and could she please desist from using this terminology. In fact, could she please desist from referring to the incident.

It’s really strange isn’t it?

I mean, every non-Melbourne person refers to it as a football accident (which it 100% was)….but Melb seem to be hanging onto it.

It’s so strange. I actually can’t wrap my head around it.

Don’t want to flag this…..but let’s be 100% honest…..if it’s any of Melbs other 22 that Maynard collects…:we’re not even having this conversation.

I legit just don’t understand why they are going Maynard & blaming the loss on something that happened in the first qtr.!!?

They need to cease and desist.

We've taken out Petracca as a warning.

It's Gawn next.

There are certain players you take for granted at times and then it just hits you- how blessed are we to have such a gift as Brayden Maynard playing for Collingwood. He's the player every supporter dreams of having in their team. A tough, cocky, in- your -face bloke and a bloody brilliant footballer. That left foot is more often than not a laser or rocket launcher and his attack on the pill and tackling is unmatched.

And his rugged good looks and physique certainly don't detract from his mystique.

His love for the black and white guernsey is not manufactured nor is his love for his teammates and coach. We will look back on his career and shake our heads in amazement at what he gave us for years.

He is ours and the rest of the comp can just suck it up and keep trying to hide their deep and obvious envy and resentment that such a player wears the mighty black and white of Collingwood.
