Just need to recall the Rendell situation where trigg bowed to Vlad's pressure & sacked him on the back of misconstrued information from a proven lier misfud. Funny how misfud got of scott free... Yet happy to wreck Rendell's reputation with some inappropriate comments in the media. Guilty without any proper investigation. No apology given when the truth came out.

For years we have folded to anything the AFL dish out to us, some warranted and some not. (even punishing ourselves on the hope of some leniency FFS)

Where has this all round good guy attitude got us? All it has done is make us an easy target, we have been one of the clubs that is used as an example to warn the other clubs.

It will be interesting to see how Fages (& Roo) deals with the next scandal.

What a corrupt bastard

I knew the AFL took an excessive punitive approach under Demetriou but if that's how the conversation actually went then it's outright blackmail and thuggery. Really disappointing if that's the sort of situation the AFL puts people in.

Gillon has gone down a couple of pegs in my mind and I always thought Demetriou was a fat knob in the job at the right time. My dog could probably run it with that amount of TV rights revenue.

Just when I thought I couldn't hate the AFL more than I did when I read that article.

It orchestrates everything to the best of its meddling ways. It is crooked, biased, and corrupt. It lies and cheats and does not treat individuals and teams evenly.

I would not urinate on it if it was in danger of burning to the ground. I despise its subterfuge and false front, and I hope Gill reads this.

Vlad would still have been wielding his impalive(?) power through Gil McLachlan at that time. In this case it was Dean Bailey, but there is always a fall guy to every AFL 'investigation', just as there are people of status and position who are 'let off' to protect the AFL competition or save a particular club. And I remain firmly convinced that clubs outside of Melbourne, who cannot bring any real pressure back to bear upon the AFL, either politically or through meaningful media concern or commercial interest/clout, have been and possibly remain as convenient disrespected whipping boys, who are made examples of with overdone penalties. It's just so much easier 'out-of-state'.

Jones did a fair bit on Richo and him tonight. Didn't go into drugs or innocence/guilty, but more about the prearranged outcome and Govt intervention with ASADA. Anything the AFL involves itself with is as murky as shit. Especially with Vlad in charge. And let's face it, everything coming out right now is from his reign. No wonder Anderson got out early.

Denied he'd ever even implied that Rendell shoukd be sacked. Before I even knew who it was he was on radio saying the person had better start looking for a job in another industry. Now, do you really think that any AFL accredited media persons woukd actually call him out on that. Caro was very strong as well, "if you knew what I knew, then you'd agree with me too". But we never will Caro, because we don't get fed from the CEO.

Funny how I thought Anderson was just an overpaid lawyer exec waffler with no real feel of footy... But at least he appeared to have principles & was probably controlled by Vlad including responsible for getting Vlad his desired outcomes.
