whats the aka relevance?
Might solve our kicking problems, what, for 10 games a year? The guy lives in the hospital ward, no value whatsoever in recruiting Drummond.

Akermanis says hi![]()
So rather than take a risk on an elite kicking player who has the ability to penetrate zones and provide real drive out of defence, you'd prefer to persist with Johnson, Walker and Armfield, like as if that's been working.
Getting him would also release gibbs into the midfield as well where he belongs. That should be enough evidence that we are looking for a player such as Drummond by being forced to play Gibbs down back. So as far as I'm concerned there is quite an upside if we can manage to keep him injury free and considering he won't be playing as many games at the Gabba's shithouse surface that could be quite possible.
Even though this thread does state Brennan, my post related to someone who mentioned Drummond. Drummond as an older player 27/28 with injuries could be drafted with a pick 50 similar to akermanis's pick...basically, not premium pick based on precendence!
You probably thought I was talking about Brennan...he would require a premium pick/wage.
No i was referring too Drummond..
I just dont see how anyone would get him for pick 60+
And i dont see the Aka comparision, he was over 30 when he pulled on the boots for Bulldogs and was voted out by all the coaching satff and senior playing group. And this year we again saw why he was cancer, so its not a reasonable comparison.
You are willing to pay $400-450k plus a draft pick for someone who can't play half a season? You're willing to give up a spot on the list and that cash on the theory that he 'may' come good once he's off the GABBA turf? Maybe a new running style can help...
It's these rash decisions that has got us into trouble in the past, and now look at the Lions. Look what they've got themselves into with their risk/s from last trade week that we profited from, let's not return the favour.
And this has nothing to do with thinking Johnson/Walker/Armfield are the answer, obviously that position is not progressing well and we may need another plan of attack. Drummond just isn't the answer at that price unless Ratten and co have some magic fairy dust that revives body parts in an instant.
