What do people think. What would we have to offer ?? pick 35 wouldnt be enough and geelong dont need anyone we have. Pick 19 could be too much but could be worth it, 22 year old proven hes a good footballer, although he is in a good side. Could we get him in the PSD, what would we have to give up ?? Says in the article he could be back by round one and latest round 12. We should chase him i rekon.

I'm still not convinced that Prismall is that great, but I'd be willing to take a chance on him. Trading with Geelong will probably only result in draft picks swapping hands, as I can't see too many players that we would be willing to give up getting a spot on their list. pick 19 and maybe a swap of later picks in our favour might do the trick, but who knows.

Would be a solid addition to Mclean Jones Grimes Buckley Morton Valenti, and probably a good insurance for the next time Moloney breaks down.

Just out of curiosity who is your midfield coach?

If Jones went to Geelong (if your other players are a guide) he would do very well.

I think MFC has to draw a line in the sand and realise that they don't develop players well enough. I have no faith in Williams as a midfiled coach. Melbourne put too much emphasis on acquiring players than turning the players they already have into guns.

I want to keep Jones simply because he has promise and the coaching department needs to earn it's dough this pre-season and next year.

You think your gonna get Pris in the PSD?.. Thats awesome - if you dont offer a reasonable pick we will deal with Essendon or Carlton or Richmond... hell, most clubs will be interested if it only means a second rounder.

P.S. We dont need Jones, we have many of his type.

i have watched Prismall play several times this year and I wasn't impressed by his pace or his disposal. The other downside is that he was playing in an awesome team which I think tends to make lesser players look much better than they actually are. I for one wouldn't take him.

Are you not forgetting that he has to agree to a trade, if he likes what melbourne offer than you haven't got much choice.

The word going around is that Prismall has already agreed to terms on a 3 year deal with the Dee's.

Put simply ...........for our Geelong friends

If he says he only wants to go to the Dee's .....then you get Jack

Yes but this one has no hair, you don't have one of him do you? Not that I want to trade Jones.

as someone else said. if he says he wants to come to melbourne only then we dont have to trade, he can walk and we'll get him for free in PSD. Im not saying this will happen but it definently can.

pick 35 = yes
pick 19 = no

He's just an average player really. He put in a blinder against us at the g last year and i have been watching him very closely since. Havent seen a game of the same ilk since that day.

You right, pick 35 wouldnt get Geelong interested i dont think and pick 19 for a guy coming off a knee reco seems a bit rich for me.

When you consider we got someone like Jack Grimes around that mark (pick 19) last year who is a much classier player than Prismall, i believe we could get better in the draft.

Might be a good player for the Richmond to deal their second rounder with if they dont get or change their mind on Seaby.

I think he's a good player, but i don't think he offers us anything really that different from what we've already got. I would be against us using pick 35 to get him too. Hopefully we can just pick him up in the PSD if he has his heart set on coming to us.

Another alternative could involve trading Chris Johnson for a late second rounder or early third rounder and on trading the pick to the Cats for Prismall. The fact he's done his knee makes me extra hesitant about us giving up a second rounder for him. If he was a KP player then yeah, it could be worth it, but he is similar in type to a number of players already at the club.

As Balme said, Prismall holds the cards.

If Melbourne put the right contract on the table for him, he can say I want to go there please Balmey, and they have to deal with us (which means they will almost certainly take Pick 35).

Otherwise, we'll take him for free in the PSD.

It all comes down to what we offer Brent.

If the Warnock deal doesn't go through for him to go to Carlton, and Geelong can't find a new home for Prismall, who would you rather the club picked up in the PSD, Warnock or Prismall?

Apparently he's told the Cats he wants to go to Essendon. It's hilarious that we're always the first people trying to strike up a deal but we never come home with the bacon. Time to upgrade the powerpoint presentation me thinks.

Pretty sad hey.

Not hard to work out though is it?

Our lack of a following and increasing debt is never going to help us pick up players during trade week. Harsh truth of the spot of bother we are in at the moment.

MELBOURNE has emerged as the possible future home of Geelong midfielder Brent Prismall, as the Cats weigh up deals with the Demons and Essendon.

Day three of AFL trade week passed yesterday with the first deal still to be struck, but while the decision on Prismall's future has now been taken out of the 22-year-old's hands, he would be happy to go to either club.

"It's coming down to the clubs, to get a deal that suffices Geelong," Prismall's manager Tom Petroro said yesterday.

"It's back in the clubs' hands. He (Prismall) has an interest in both clubs (Essendon and Melbourne).

"We have two clubs that are extremely interested and we're just working through it. I wouldn't say one (club) or the other (is more likely)."

Prismall rejected a two-year deal offered by Geelong, but Petroro said it had nothing to do with money or the length of the deal, but about where he would get more game time.

"It's about opportunity. Brent's decision has nothing to do with the Geelong Football Club, they've been fantastic, they've been outstanding," Petroro said.

The Cats will weigh up a deal with the Bombers involving speedster Andrew Lovett, although money is believed to be the main problem, or with Melbourne.

The Demons, who finished last, have the first draft pick of each round to offer prospective clubs.

looks like we're in the box seat again. unless geelong figure out how to take lovett, we will be able to offer a better pick.

Where was that article from? Looks fairly promising and could be good because we can offer a better draft pick than Essendon.
