What is all this talk of a boutique stadium lately???
Hello... we have one. It is called Princes Park!!
If the AFL put some money in to upgrade it a bit then the extra games could quite easily be played here. The ground surface is brilliant and it can hold the numbers.
I am quite positive that the AFL have something against it. Maybe its the transport, maybe it's from Big Jack's days. But surely it is an option to be considered................

Too many PP haters. Oh, its the transport, its the parking, its this and that.

PP is a footy ground. The AFL want another Telstra Dome. In fact, the AFL are exactly like Telstra. If they cant control every part of it, they want nothing of it.

That would certainly be on the AFL's mind and Carlton would be happy to sell the lease with the condition that we're able to keep it as a training venue. As is, we're losing millions each year on the lease.

Given the redevelopment plans already in action though, the AFL can't have been particularly strong on the idea.

Only non-union labour will be building the stadium.

In fact, I hear the stadium will be built in China/India then shipped here.

No, the days of suburban Victorian grounds having AFL matches were dying years ago and are now well and truly dead. Melbourne has 2 modern day stadiums where all Victorian teams play each other. PP, or MC Labour Park, just doesn't have what it takes to host AFL matches in today's times. It won't ever happen.

I would be a fan of having princess park hosting games again
It would have a much better atmosphere for games like north vs fremantle etc where about 4 people go to watch

Who wants this one? :)

Might want to work on recognising the correct name of the spiritual home of Carlton.

Princes Park... no two SS at the end...

It is not or never will be Optus Oval or MC Labour park or anything else the sponsors really want to call it... to the true blue Carlton fans, it is always Princes Park...

Please get it right in future
