It's a rubbish game and there's a reason it isn't selling well.

And if a game is boring in the first 15 minutes then I cant see how it is going to change 2 hours later.

The integration of campaign mode on online is a rubbish system, as a shooter they should of just kept it simple, have a similar system to Cod/Battlefield/GOW or any other shooter.

The buttons on the console are rubbish, having Zoom and Run on LT and LB and then having LS as the button to use skills is just ridiculously hard, not to mention you have to hold LS down for 3 seconds to use it, combine that with the silly configuration of LT and LB for Zooming and Running it just doesn't work.

As for the missions, they are all the same, capture this, hold this base go capture enemy controls room, there really is nothing to like about the campaign mode, a massive fail with that in my opinion.

The game overall is just a massive let down, if they had of kept it simple it could of been a good game, leave campaign mode for Offline and have Online mode purely for custom games like capture the flag, tdm etc stuff like that.

First off, how do you know how its selling? it's been number 1 on the steam charts for almost a week now, for example.

As for the bolded, well that's just not true at all. Not every game is a shallow CoD clone with giant arrows telling you where to go. Some games need more than 15minutes to determine what they have to offer. Please, go play Arma 2, X3, eve online, hearts of iron, baldurs gate, minecraft etc for 15 minutes and tell me you know what the games gameplay is all about...

I'm not sure if Brink is the same, but its gameplay is based off the long-time free game Enemy Territory and its sequel Quake Wars. The original ET was a classic, and there was no way you fairly judge that in 15mins. It likely has its own unique gameplay and it will take time to learn how to play it.

Agree mate, just because a game doesn't hold ya hand from the get go doesn't mean it's a bad game.

I've been speaking about the console version, so I'm not to sure how the PC version is selling and if it's any different.

When I pre-ordered Brink 1 day before release in Australia I asked around at a few stores such as EB-Game etc about how many Pre-orders they had received for the game, Game had only received 6 Pre-orders for Brink and that was including mine, and a couple of other stores didn't have more then about 10-13 Pre-orders, and EB was the same thing with not many sales.

And about the game, if you think it's a good game then that's fine but I can tell you right now that on Console Brink is just not selling and is a rubbish game, could be different on PC, I don't know but on Console it's simply no good.

Like I said earlier, steer clear of Console if you can, I can see its not a game that will translate well. You really need a keyboard and mouse IMO.

That's the thing though, there are about 50 other shooter games I'd look at buying and playing before I'd give Brink another go. and I'm there would be plenty of other people thinking the same thing.

Sweet, I can get it on eBay for around $35 inlcuding postage for PC. I might give it a go. :thumbsu:

I played Op Flashpoint Red River for 20 minutes and hated it.

Played it again a few hours later, gave it a chance, and really enjoyed it.

Some games are hard to get into (RedRiver was nothing like a CoD style shooter; much harder, much slower, much more tactical), but are bloody good when you do get your head around them.

I was the same at first with this title, I thought I'd done my coin with this but kept at it and am now enjoying it.

Will be just another to the collection though, not nearly as good as I'd hoped.

Free weekend on steam for anyone that's wants to give it a go. Gonna give it a crack.

If you like it, it's part of the Quakecon bundle for about 70 bucks which looks awesome.

Bought the Quakecon pack this morning, too goo not to. Will try this out shortly.

Steam is insidious. Library now up to 90 odd games, over half not played, a third not even d/led heh.

I'm upto 163 games........... :o

Probably played (not completed) about 50%

Really umming and ahhing about the quakecon pack. Great deal, but i already own a few of the games. The biggest selling point for me was going to be brink, but now that it seemingly won't work with my graphics card, (a fairly decent ATI HD4870), i'm not to sure.
