I'd still be very sceptical of any supposed Broughton trade. Both times it has been mentioned, the initial source has been afl.com.au, and both times it has lacked any substance.

Freo have said they will look at a trade if the offer is suitable. As far as I'm aware Fremantle has not said a thing.

Your local news is my local news.
There has been nothing in the written press. I don't trust Seven (or any of the commercial networks) to be accurate, and the only solid print media quotes are from his manager, who's basically just said Broughton would move if he wasn't going to get a game at Fremantle (which it can be expected he would, given he hasn't been dropped.)
Broughton to Port, Jacobs to North, Aaron Black to Freo? Fills needs for everyone. We need KPF, Port need a Jacobs replacement and North obviously want Jacobs. Black and Jacobs were similar number picks. Broughton was a bargain but is a proven quality defender.
Not sure if Broughton would like the idea of Port though. I reckon his preference would be Saints if he had a choice.
Justed checked: Jacobs 16, Black 25. Maybe we get unders a bit.

Our defence is based around a team system as seen in the second half of the year when Broughton was injured (as im watching replays of the games Rnd1-23 he was actually very serviceable up forward contrary to popular belief).. his undoubted ability to beat opponents 1v1 is probably worth more to other sides than it is to us, so no harm in seeing what offers can be tabled.
Decent first round pick which increases our chances of gathering a KPP player as well as having our Pick 17 still in tact, i would seriously look at it. Anything less and they can jump though
The Herald Sun have just reported that Port have pulled out of interest in Broughton.

Would appear to be the best fit.St. Kilda come on down!
Hopefully because they realised that Broughton was never up for trade![]()
Would appear to be the best fit.

Except that article is saying he was up for trade and they are baulking at Broughton's demand for a long term deal, and his salary
Of note, the article is written by Hagdorn's Adelaide alter ego, M Ricci.
Fremantle defender Greg Broughton will discuss a potential trade with his manager today after returning home on Sunday from an overseas holiday.
Broughton finished third in the Dockers' best and fairest in 2011 but his role changed under coach Ross Lyon this year. He spent the latter stages of the season playing as a small forward before suffering a season-ending finger injury.
The 26-year-old has plenty of competition for a place in the Fremantle back line and midfield, but at least three clubs - believed to be Port Adelaide, St Kilda and North Melbourne - have asked the Dockers about Broughton's availability.
Broughton is contracted for another season but manager Gavin Jahn said the former rookie understood that football was a business.
"He wants to play footy and, like anybody, he wants to make sure he's getting a regular game," Jahn said.
"If it's not for Fremantle we'll explore other options.
"Is there a spot for him at Fremantle or is there not a spot?
"If there's not, we'll look at the options and see what's around.
"It'd be wrong for us to not explore that interest, just in case."
Jahn has also been overseas with business commitments and Broughton was uncontactable while on a surfing holiday. Today will be the first chance the pair have had to discuss next season.
Fremantle have recruited Danyle Pearce from Port Adelaide as a free agent and he will add run from half-back or through the midfield.
Someone needs to remind Watters how much man-love he has for Broughts, get the emotions in there and the deal will sort itself out in our favour![]()

Would appear to be the best fit.
