40 + 17 + Broughts for 25 + 13 (St Kilda)
Broughts + Clancee/Lower for 12? (GWS)

Any1 Keen on Broughts + Clancee/Lower for 12 then ... did say after big body's but am I over-rating our boys
 
First of all, those players would need to want to be traded and have to agree on the team they are traded to.
2nd dont need both Clancee and Lower but would want to keep one of them.
3rd give up doesnt look like we have any chance of getting any higher than pick 17 for the first round.
Would need to give up young quality or a star player.
Not good player plus average player.

Best we can hope for this week is to somehow get another pick under 30.

Would you be happy with pick 25 for Broughton? I would be very reluctant to trade a very decent AFL player for a second round pick. Especially when we are in Premiership mode. 25 and 26 and I would be happier.
 
How about a complex 4 way trade.

St Kilda lose Cripps, gain Broughton
WCE lose Stevens, gain Cripps
Bulldogs lose Pick 6, Gain Stevens + Pick 17
Freo lose Broughton + Pick 17, Gain Pick 6

Of course, I've weighted that nicely in our favour. But it is our board, so I can do what I want here.

Didn't Broughton have problems with his back during his Subiaco days? I know he played every game in 2011, but even then iirc he was at various stages having to train lightly. Also, am sure he missed games in 2010 because of back problems (as well as this year).

Odds are that he goes to the Saints for either pick 25 or 26. I'm happy with a top of the second round pick in a compromised draft. Picks 17,25/26,40... is better than 17,40 and a player that pines it in the WAFL next year.

If that happens all that Ross has said is that we enjoy being bent over at the trade table.

That all depends. If we make a trade for a key forward like Brown and get another draft pick we may well be better. With Pearce delivering lace out at speed from the wing to another tall, naturally talented forward we could do very well.

Broughton is a great player for us, but he is certainly not irreplaceable. Pav, irreplaceable, Sandi irreplaceable. Elvis? Irreplaceable.
Broughton is replaceable. We need to be able to cover the loss of the named three in future years. We need draft picks or similar sized young players with talent to develop.

If Broughton leaving is able to get us closer to this goal then it is certainly worth looking at!
 
Even if we lost Ibbotson for pick 25 that would be disappointing too considering we used pick 26 to recruit him over Andrew Swallow back in 05.

I too would obviously prefer to lose Ibbo over Broughton but unfortuntely there is no such trade talk regarding him.
