FREMANTLE is anxiously awaiting the results of scans on Greg Broughton's hamstring after the defender was hurt in his comeback game in the WAFL.
Broughton, who has become a star in defence after breaking into AFL ranks last season, was playing for Subiaco after missing six weeks with a foot injury.
Maybe some good news to counter the bad on Broughton,Mcpharlin trained the full session this morning and then stayed on the track for some extra work with Pav.
Could be back a little earlier than expected.
Any news on the extent of the injury?![]()
Harves on the interview on the 6pr thread said likely 2 weeks.
I notice that our good mate Salim neglected to mention that Broughton deserted his Subiaco team mates mid match to seek treatment of his injury.
I know for a fact that several members of Subi were not to happy about that - hardly a good attitude for a minor injury.
Should take a good look at himself - or if FFC encouraged it - the club should take a good look at itsself.
Think what Checkers is referring to is the number one whingeing media person in this town (Goosage) saying it wasn't good enough that he left the ground to get treatment and then asks if anyone can confirm that he did!!!

I am not too sure what you mean. Are you having a go at Broughton for worrying about an injury that could further disrupt his AFL career with worries it could be quite serious. I'm sure he appreciates the football Subi has given him but he's an AFL listed player and playing for his AFL side is his main priority. I am sure Freo would've wanted him/instructed him to come off if he had any niggles or injury concers. Hardly was a final anyway. I apologize if I misread what you meant, and you did cover the fact FFC may have encouraged it, but its a WAFL game against an average side (who took it to Subi, unlucky Perth). Why wouldn't you come off if you're injured and wanting to get back to AFL soon as possible and whats the point of risking further issue against a bottom side. They got the points in the end anyway. Do you mean coming off for the rest of the match or just during a passage of play when he could've maybe made a tackle or dished off a handball before going off.
Not having a go at you by the way just not 100% sure on what the big deal is.
Its not the fact that he left the field - obviously if he does a hammy he should come off the field for the rest of the game.
It is more the point that he left the stadium immediately after he was injured. He didnt wait until the end of the game which is customary.
Unless you are seriously injured (and need to go to hospital) it is very poor form to leave the stadium mid-match. Alot of people at Subiaco are not happy at Broughton for just leaving and going to seek treatment straight away.
Oh well, f***k the people of Subi then! Tossers!
He's a Freo player first and foremost and followed their instructions to seek attention asap which was the right thing to do.
The silver spoon brigade at SFC need to get over themselves!!!
Shut up mate, you're boring.Scham, it would be considered poor form at any football club.
When Broughton plays for Subiaco then he needs to abide by their procedures and policies for injury management.
Ask Reiwold or Gibson if hamstrings are minor, The Subi footy club were more than happy for Broughton to seek outside treatment. The only complaint consisted of one Goosage who was trying to drum up some kind of reaction to get a story.I notice that our good mate Salim neglected to mention that Broughton deserted his Subiaco team mates mid match to seek treatment of his injury.
