Brown & Cogs Contract

i may be wrong - but are both cogs and brown out of contract at the end of this season?

if so, i think we should expect to be almost halving these fella's pay - as they cannot seriously ever retain their past form due to the heavy toll injuries has taken.

these fella's all look like they have another 8-10 years of AFL seniors ahead of them - and thats exciting - if we finish bottom four this year, you can almost guarantee another 2-3 players to add to this list - its important that we don't over pay brown and cogs if they come back - as we need to be able to have players being paid on an even basis

I'd imagine brown and Cogs will get performance based contracts. Its not their fault they are injured but we have to financially safe.

How about Krak for Jaymie Graham (+ a swap of 3rd round picks)

Graham has been struggling to get a game, but West Coasts backline is by far the best in the league. He would be a great asset for the club. He could play on the taller/stronger forward or ruckman(when playing forward) and could also pinch hit in the ruck or up forward. Thursfield, McGuane and Moore are not tall enough to play full back on the lynch/hall types and Polak looks the most likely to hold down CHB, could he be the FB that we need?

His in the same position as Polak was last year. Polak was picked up at very low cost as could Graham. Kraq has been at the club for years now and his performances have been subpar throughout his career, maybe its time for a change.

I dont think Graham is a dud. Where he would fit in our team next year would be the only real question for me. Can he play fullback or be a very accountable KP defender??

Both will be offered 12 month contracts and I would think be happy considering the huge prospect of not being able to return to an AFL standard . Both of them were bloody enough that its worth taking the chance

Fringe player is a bit harsh. Hes getting kept out by alot of good players. I wouldnt trade him but I feel he may want to leave for more opportunities like Polak did

Graham played 24 games for us last year. This year, the Eagles have bitten the bullet and decided to only play one out of him and Staker.

Graham is far better than Krakouer by the way. By virtue of being a tall he's more valueable and he's actually younger than Krakouer.

i think we have to make sure we play hard ball with these two once their contract is out - both have been paid far beyond their output - due to injury's incurred or not. we don't "owe" either of these two in regards to cash - they should definitely both be given a year or eve two to prove they can still perform - but not at our financial costs.

He has to want to come home and would want to play with the tigers. He will be hottest propert in football and with 9 teams in melbourne you'll be given up a lot to get him.

Kaks can be a match winner, but is a bit inconsistent like a lot of the players in the side. Tigers havent seen the best of him, mainly because of the style of bombing the ball in the way they do.

It would put a big strain on the salary cap,in long the long run it's better to develop the young players.

We have numerous people who could be playing in Krak's position and getting similar results, we are lacking a tall defender 196cm+. What is there to lose, Krak isn't in our best 22 but Graham would be.
